Sleeping cutie!!

It still amazes me that babies can basically sleep through anything.

In this picture perfect moment, Maycee and Cooper are running around Oliver screaming at the top of their lungs.  And here he sleeps peacefully.

Christmas is underway

This year we wanted Maycee and Cooper to get each other presents.  Maycee is the only one that will understand, so she was involved with picking out Cooper's present.

Me: What do you think Cooper would want for Christmas?

Maycee: He wants a pony.  Yeah, I think Cooper wants a pony...no I want a pony for Christmas.  I should get a pony for Christmas.

Me: I know that you want a pony for Christmas, but what would Cooper want?

(pause for thought)

Maycee: We should get Cooper a car.

Me: Maycee that is awesome!  I think Cooper would love a car.  What kid of car should we get him?

Maycee: Lightning McQueen.  We should get him Lightning  McQueen.

So, Maycee and I went shopping for a Lightning McQueen car.  We ended up finding the perfect car.  It was a two pack, one Lightning McQueen for Cooper, and one Sally so Maycee can play with him.  So excited!  Maycee did so well!

Anyway, last night Maycee helped me to wrap the present to put under the tree.  By help, I mean that she put the tape where I told her to put it.  She was pretty stoked about that.

That night Stephen also made his famous cookies.  Cooper loves them.

On Cooper's present I drew Cooper's name with dotted lines, so that Maycee could trace them.  She is doing so well!

Very excited for Christmas!!!!!

Today has been one of those days.

I'm writing this purely for selfish reasons.  Someday in the future I can sit my children down and say, "See! This is why your mom is crazy!!  You drove me their a long time ago."

It's not even noon yet.

This morning I was feeding Oliver and Maycee got her preschool markers out to color in her coloring book.  Cooper stole the markers and colored on the couch.

Then I sat down to pay bills and Maycee peed on the kitchen floor.  Puddle and everything.  She hasn't done that in months.

While I was cleaning Maycee up, Cooper climbed up the the kitchen counter and ripped up a whole brand new box of Kleenexes.

While I was cleaning up the Kleenexes, Cooper ran over to the Christmas Tree and kicked over the train that surrounds our tree.

Maycee and Cooper have been banished to their bedrooms while Mom calms down.

It is definitely Monday.

Happy Birthday!

My parents had a hard time figuring out what to get their grown children and spouses for their birthdays, so they decided a couple of years ago to get us a fun trip to Salt Lake City together.  We've gone every year for the past four years.  Here's our trip from this year.

Stephen and I, along with the kiddos, drove to the farm on Thursday night when Stephen got home from work.  On Friday morning we headed down to SLC and met my Uncle Keoki and Aunt Kristy at their local Kneaders for lunch.  After lunch we crashed at their house for a couple of hours.  They have the coolest basements ever.  It was unfinished and full of fun toys for little kids and 'big' kids.

Here is Stephen and Cooper on the drum set!

Air Hockey!  Kory, Karli, and Dad.

Indoor trampoline.  Charisse, Boston, and Maycee.

Upstairs Oliver and Lexi were chillin'.  This picture cracks me up.  Oliver is in mid sneeze.  Also in big news, Oliver rolled over for the first time at Uncle Keoki's!  Go Ollie!

Love this pic.  Kory totally set them up.

Downstairs again!  Maycee.  They also had one of these cars in pink.  Maycee kept going back and forth between the two.  They also had at least 4 wiggle cars that we were cruising all over the place on.  SO much fun!  I didn't get any pictures of those.

Karli and Maycee trying their hand at the drums.

AND as true to form, we headed over to the temple to see the lights and it was freezing!!!  What the heck.  Every year we see the lights and I just want to be inside.  TOO COLD!!

After temple square we headed to our main event...HOCKEY!!!!  Wow.  Now that is an intense full contact sport.  Way more so than football.  We really wanted to see an all out brawl, but it didn't happen.  Super close to one in the third period.

Honestly, I spent most of the third period in the bathroom with Cooper's diaper and then Oliver's blowout of the century.  It was awful.  I've never seen either of the other two create such a mess as he did during the hockey game.  Shane told me that I should just throw out his clothes.  I refuse.  I just got them as a gift and they're SO cute!  He even had two layers on.

We got to the hotel super late, so we put the kiddos to bed and Mom and Dad had pizza ordered to the hotel.

Maycee and Cooper slept awful.  We were originally going to have them sleep in the same bed, but they were so hyper and rambunctious that we had to separate them.  Stephen slept with Maycee and I slept with Cooper.

The next morning we swam in the cold pool.  At least everyone else did.  I sat in the hot tub.  No pictures though.

We checked out of the hotel with every intention to go to lunch in Ogden and then the girls would get pedicures while the guys watched the kiddos and went to Smith and Edwards.  While at lunch it started to snow.  A lot.  We ended up going our separate ways after lunch.  Let it snow!

Thanks Mom and Dad for such an awesome birthday present!  We love you!!!

And done!

When Cooper was born, one of my friends made him a super cute blanket that was big enough to last him to be a kid.  He loves loves that blanket and it goes where ever he does.  I really wanted one for Oliver, so I found where she got the kit and purchased a boy kit and a girl kit.  Because we didn't know what we were having.  I finished the boy and girl tops of the blankets before Oliver was born.  I've been finishing Oliver's blanket now for 2 1/2 months.  I can now say that it is finished!!!

I'm so proud of myself!!  It was quite a project.  BUT I finished!!!!  Minky fabric is rough.

Life is

CRAZY!!!

I feel like I can't even catch my breath.  Ever since Maycee started preschool things have been insane.  I know, I know, that was three months ago.  STILL, I can't figure it out.  We have, like, a schedule, now and I can't even handle it.  Poor Oliver.  He's just along for the ride.  I have no idea how long this is going to last.  Meaning how long is it going to take me to get this figured out.

Last night I fed Oliver at 10pm and he slept until 5:30am.  I'm hoping that this will be a regular thing now.  Sleep is kind of an important thing on my list.

We put up all of the Christmas stuff last night.  When Maycee and Cooper were awake we hung up the stockings and put up our little people Nativity.  After we put them to bed we put up the tree and the train.  This morning when Maycee and Cooper woke up, they were in awe.  It was really fun to watch.  I was sitting on the couch reading with the Christmas lights on and they walked out of their room and stared at the Christmas lights wide-eyed and open-mouthed.  I turned on the train for them and they just sat and giggled as it went around and around.

It has been quite a chore to keep the kids away from the Christmas tree and the train.

The last two or three weeks have been a nightmare for sleeping with Maycee and Cooper.  We haven't really had a problem with their sleep habits, but since daylight savings (I hate daylight savings!!!!!!!!!) and an unfortunate mistake by Stephen and me, we're having issues.  We thought for a fun family activity we would all watch Monster's University.  BAD MISTAKE!  Maycee is now terrified of her bed.  That is where all of the monsters learned to scare the little kids.  Grrrr.

Maycee has made up her own cuss word.  Holy Macaroni.  It makes me laugh.

Thanksgiving

Yeah, I didn't get a single picture of Thanksgiving.

I'm worthless.

Well, we enjoyed ourselves.

This year we were at the farm for Thanksgiving.  I think my mom was a little over stressed because she had been feeding extra people for 2 weeks straight before Thanksgiving, three meals a day.  I think she was a little done cooking, so she had a lot of other people do the cooking for her...namely Butterburs.  To give her a little credit, those pies were really good.

Anyway, we got to Mom and Dad's on Wednesday night.  This was the first time in quite a while that the whole family was together.

And, Mom got her family pictures.

About a month ago I was talking to my mom on the phone.  She was having a hard time coming to terms with the fact that her baby was finally leaving the next.  In the middle of her tears she requested that we take family pictures on Thanksgiving.

Yeah, right.  Like I was going to tell her no while she was crying!  The last family picture took her two years to get.

So, Thanksgiving morning everyone took cold showers and the girls filled the bathrooms with makeup and hairspray.  We looked good.

Before our big feast Dad told us how grateful he was for Mom and how grateful he was for all of his childrens' spouses.  Dad is really good at expressing appreciation.  He asked us all to fast with him the next week in gratitude for our spouses.

Thanks Dad!

I do think I have the greatest husband ever!  Mom always says how she thought I was going to end up marrying a stick in the mud....thanks Mom?  Anyway, her thought process is correct, but Stephen is perfect for me.  I love him!  And he is anything, but a stick in the mud.

I love Thanksgiving!  It is the perfect precursor for Christmas.

And don't worry.  I'll post our fancy schmancy pictures as soon as I get them from Karli.

Shopping

My mother requested a big family picture on Thanksgiving.

So we had to go shopping!

I had to post this picture.  We were making sure that the shirt we found for Dad would match Mom's outfit.

Aren't they adorable?

Good to go.

Date Night

Wow.

I.

Love.

Date Night.

Stephen bought a groupon for Johnny Carinos and my parents happened to be in town on Friday so....WE WENT OUT!!!  Honestly date night is getting to be more and more frequent at the Post household.  Our babysitters' numbers should be on my speed dial.

Anyway Johnny Carinos was amazing.  It was so nice to be able to enjoy a meal without having to worry about our kids throwing food or yelling or having to make sure they are taken care of.  It was SO relaxing!!

Don't we look so relaxed?

So does Oliver.  He's allowed to come on date nights until we start to notice him....

Thank you, my love, for such an enjoyable night.

Preschool Thanksgiving Party

Turkey Pokie!!

Aren't their hats so stinkin' cute!

Getting a picture with all of these kids looking is a little difficult.
