First swimming lesson session

Look very closely.  Maycee's floating on her own!!!

Cooper always has to have his goggles on, but he has to have them on his forehead.

Cooper was freezing.  It was pretty cold that day and he was the last one to jump off the diving board. By the time it was his turn both Stacie and I were trying to coax him onto the board.  Cooper burst into tears and chattered,  "I fweezing!  I fwwweezing!"  We got him to jump off the board, but he had to hold my hand.  No pictures on that jump.

These 2 pictures make me laugh.

The kiddos did really well!  Maycee is so close to swimming on her own.  She got in trouble a few times for trying to swim off on her own without Stacie there.  Maycee was making me a little nervous. That girl needs to be at least a little scared of water.

Cooper handled things like a champ!  He holds his breath awesome and he's catching on to the floating thing.  I love watching them learn!!

Princess Academy

A few girls near our neighborhood put on a Princess Academy.  They invite girls from the ages of 4 to 9 to participate.  I talked my way in to letting Maycee join this year.  I'm so glad I did.

The first day all of the girls were supposed to wear their best dresses.  Maycee decided to wear her favorite dress.  My bridesmaid dress for Krystal's wedding.  She loves that thing.  I kinda forced her to wear the awesome cape I made for her that was purple and sparkly and had a white sparkly crown on it.  They decorated crowns that day and put makeup on them and took their pictures.  Here was Maycee's:

On day 2 they did baking.  Have no idea how that worked, but Maycee came home with a chocolate dipped oreo and a tie dyed sugar cookie.  She seemed pretty proud of them.

Day 3 was gardening.  They made cutie headbands and flowers and Maycee came home with a beautiful butterfly that was painted on her face.

The final day was a swimming party at one of the girls' homes that had a swimming pool.  They invited the family.  Maycee and Cooper had a blast.  Maycee is in love with the Nash girls in our ward.  She followed them around the pool and they took really good care of her!

Cooper swam with anyone that would catch him as he jumped in to the pool.  That kid is a thrill junky.

Happy Birfday, Stephen

I love being Stephen's personal party planner.  It is SO much fun!  This year was no different.

For the past 4 years we have gone on a picnic to the park for Stephen's birthday.  That's where the day really started.  Since it rained until 1pm, we had our picnic in our living room.  We laid out our picnic blanket and pulled out the lunch box.

Here is Maycee in all of her princess academy splendor.  Don't worry, I'll get to that in another post.

After lunch was nap/quiet time....then we had swimming lessons and the reveal.  The coolest birthday cake on the planet.  And the funnest birthday ever.  The funny thing about that cake....the bottom layer was Stephen's favorite cake.  Confetti box cake.  I planned on putting the rainbow chip frosting in between the layers because Stephen loves that frosting as well, but then found out they discontinued it!!!  Apparently there is a huge uproar about it to. The top layer is Krystal's new rendition of rice krispies.  They taste just like s'mores.  And since that is Stephen's other favorite dessert, I thought it was quite fitting.

I took a bajillion pictures of that cake.  Stephen opened his presents and we played superhero and super-villian.  The rules were quite simple.  Stephen was the villian and the rest of us were the heros.  The heros got water balloons and the villian threw candy every time he was hit with a water balloon.

It was really fun to watch and be a part of.  Maycee had a blast.  She didn't even bat an eye when she got soaked.  (Stephen decided that he didn't like the rules of the game, so he stole some water balloons.)

Then we had cake and watched Stephen's new addition to his movie collection.  The Lego Movie.  Awesome show.

Happy Father's Day!

I love holidays.  Any of them!

Father's Day was so awesome this year.  I love that my kids are getting older and more able to be a part of these holidays.  I was so excited about the little gift that we constructed for Stephen.

I asked Maycee a bunch of questions (thank you Pinterest) about her Dad, that she answered.  I then had her write her name at the bottom.  It is so amazing to see her able to do these things!

We gave Stephen a new lunch box.  His old one was in pieces, literally.  Filling the lunch box was the fun part.  Cooper gave him this in the lunchbox:

Ollie gave him apples in the lunch box.

I gave him a Naked drink.  This is my favorite part.  Probably one of those things you shouldn't be writing on your blog.  But I'm way too proud of myself for this one.  Totally 'Kami' inspired.  On the Naked drink I wrote, "Let's be honest.  This is how you got to be a Dad in the first place!"

I'm so good.
