Wow. Things have been crazy. I can't even tell you what we did, but it was crazy.
First. Oliver has given up his four legs for two. He walks!! On January 24th he decided he was done crawling and never looked back. No transition period for this kid! He currently looks like a hick baby with his bottom two teeth with his top one tooth. That other darn tooth is taking forever to come in! ALSO Ollie has learned a new trick. A trick I am really not a fan of. He has decided that he will only poop in clean diapers. Ugh!! In the beginning of last week I thought that his trick was coincidence, but nope. He has pooped in a clean diaper for a week. Little stinker.
Cooper. Poor Cooper. He has had three ear infections since Christmas. It breaks my heart to watch him cry and hold his ear. Most other illnesses he has had, really have not affected him. He barfed and coughed his little head off, while running around the house, still goofing off. Ear infections hurt him. (Insert crying mommy emoticon.) Right at this moment, Cooper is on the upswing. He is doing great. AND he is being such a boy. His love language is touch. Not just any touch, but rough touch. He loves to tackle Maycee and Oliver. Sometimes they handle it, sometimes they don't. That is how Cooper shows his love.
Maycee, Maycee, Maycee. How can a child make you want to wring their neck and smother them in kisses all in one day? This child has is down to an art.
On Sunday she gave her first talk in Middleton. The Primary Secretary called me the Friday before to ask if Maycee would give a talk on Sunday. I said yes, and then immediately panicked because we only had two days to memorize it! And the topic was "Jesus Christ was resurrected, and I will be too." Wow. What to get a 4 year old to say in a talk about that?! I asked Maycee what she thought. She immediately said. "I love Jesus. I know Jesus loves me!" So that is how we started it. She then quoted John 11:25 "Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:" She closed he talk with a little testimony. "I know Jesus was resurrected. I know I will be resurrected, too." And closed, "In the name of Jesus Christ, amen." We worked on that thing A LOT!!! She would mess up in the middle of the scripture almost everytime, then just before church, she got it. And then said it perfectly in primary!! AH!! I LOVE PROUD MOMMY MOMENTS!!!
I have to mention on thing. Two weeks ago the kids were in the back yard playing. Maycee stuck her head inside the door and said, "Mom, can I go to planet earth and visit the aliens?" I asked her where she had heard that and she said, "Aunt Karli taught me it when I was a little baby." So funny.
Maycee is riding her big girl princess bike really well now. She doesn't even ask to ride the other bike anymore! Well, currently her bike is 'sick' with two flat tires. I got her slime tires in the mail today and it will be fixed. That's what you get when you follow Mom on your bike....he he he he. I love riding bikes with my kids! We are ready to try Cooper on Maycee's old bike. I'm curious to see how he does. It took him about a week to figure out the Strider bike and was then riding like a pro. It is so much fun to watch these kids grow up and figure things out! It amazes me that they can. I mean, you know that eventually they would figure things out, but to actually watch it is miraculous. I sometimes wonder if that is how Heavenly Father feels with us. (Yeah! Kami finally learned to listen!)
Stephen and I are doing awesome!!!!! We made a big change in our lives that made a HUGE difference for us. We got rid of the TV. I know, I know, it sounds extreme, but Stephen and I needed a kick in the pants to get more proactive in life rather than let things happen around us. I cannot even express the difference that it has made. It has been two weeks and I honestly have not missed it.

It has been forever since I have read your blog! But I was thinking of you today, so I figured I needed to drop by. As I was scrolling through your blog and looking at pics of your cute kids, I saw this post and wanted to comment. (And I may be commenting on something from another post, so oops). I wanted to tell you how sorry I am about Cooper and his ears :( Trevor had the same thing when he was just a baby, from about 6 months until 11 months. He would get double ear infections and sinus infections at the same time. Over and over. It was so terrible!!!
We finally ended up getting his adenoids removed and ear tubes put in at 11 months. And then last year, got his adenoids removed again (they grow back)and tonsils removed, since he was doing the sinus infection stuff again, plus stopping breathing during the night. No fun.
Also... getting rid of the TV is awesome! We occasionally watch Tv or movies on my computer, but it has become very very rare. It's been several years since we watched much TV, and I don't miss it a bit! :)
Drop me an email or something, I'd love to chat!
