I'm too young to die!

A few months ago, I happened to notice a little strand of hair that was NOT my natural, beautiful, dirt-brown color. I tried to ignore it. For a couple of weeks I ignored this little strand, but that dang little strand just happened to always be where my part was. Finally, frustrated, I pulled that little thing out.

Wednesday, I cut tubes for Stephen and then drove them to his work. He walked out of his office looking a little depressed. He told me about his frustration with customers.

We hauled the boxes of tubes out of my car and then Stephen opened my car door and helped me in. As I sat down in the drivers side seat, Stephen leaned down to give me our customary goodbye kiss and said, "KAMI, WHAT IS THAT?" staring at the side of my face.

I pulled down my mirror to see what Stephen was gawking at. There it was, another one of those strands that was not my natural, beautiful, dirt-brown color. I immediately pulled it from my head and Stephen slid it from my grip. His eyes and face lit up with excitement, "I have to show my co-workers!"

He raced back into his office with the little gray hair in hand.

I'm glad that I made his day better.

It has finally happened

I have been laid off. Everyone please say a prayer for Marv's Insulation! (My former workplace) They are struggling and need all the help they can get.

Now to happier things...MY HOUSE IS SPIC AND SPAN!!!! This is probably the only time in my life when my house will be this clean. Anyone who ever plans to come and visit me should do it now because I have a clean house. It will only stay this way until I get a new job, I'm sure. Right now you could probably eat off of the floors of my bathtubs. Seriously, it's that clean.

The Big O-N-E

Stephen and I have finally made it. We are one year old! This last year with my hubby has been so much fun.

I would just like to introduce you to the Stephen that I NOW know and love.

1.) Stephen LOVES cartoons. We watch cartoons together all of the time. Mostly we watch cool cartoons about superheros. Our current favorite is the Justice League. We watch those episodes quite frequently. Stephen always updates me on the different characters and things that are happening with them in new movies and stuff. His real obsession is Batman. I bought him some Batman pajamas for Christmas and he wears them all the time with his Superman t-shirt.

2.) Stephen has the biggest heart in the entire world. I don't know how I can really explain this to you, but he really cares for everyone. Not only is he always watching out for me and my concerns, but also those around him. And he surrounds himself with a lot of people.

3.) Stephen is very organized and clean. When you enter Stephen's cubicle at work you will see everything in its place and neatly labeled. If you enter Stephen's home space you will see the exact same thing. He always puts the toilet seat down when he is done. All of our movies are in a CD organizer in alphabetical order.

4.) Stephen LOVES kids. He tries to adopt any little kid that he sees and likes in our ward. Believe me, there are many! He always wants to hold the little babies and throw around the other ones. He always tells me that he wants a baby Kami.

5.) Stephen enjoys his calling. He works with the elders quorum president and his favorite part is making visits with other people in the ward. He always come home from those to tell me about the cool people that he met and how we should get to know them.

6.) Stephen is SEXY!!! Of course, I knew that before I married him, but I thought that I should just mention it.

Those are a few things that I have learned about the love of my life in the last year. I AM THE LUCKIEST GIRL IN THE WORLD!!!!

It's a Tree...

Stephen and I sometimes get a little distracted in Sacrament Meeting. We are very easily entertained by the kids around us. They are just so funny!

The little girl sitting next to us started to get out a notebook and crayons during the talks. She started with a clean sheet of paper and drew a big triangle at the top of her page.

I leaned over to Stephen and said, "She's going to draw a house."

She then drew two lines underneath the triangle, so as to hold the triangle up. I felt pretty smug because I knew I was right. All little girls draw houses.

Stephen leaned over and said, "No, she's drawing a mushroom."

The little girl drew two circles inside of the tippy top of her triangle. She then added a U shape underneath her circles. It looked like a smiley face.

Whispering to Stephen I said, "Maybe she's drawing a tree?"

She then drew two little antennas on both sides of the top of her triangle.

Stephen replied, "Ask her what it is."

I finally resorted to the easy way. I asked her what her drawing was.

The little girl looked at me and her look said, 'What? Can't you see what it is?' and she replied, "It's a talking cat."

Wow.

Plant Shelves

For those of you who have not been to my house, you must understand that I have a decorating problem. I DON'T KNOW HOW TO DO IT!!! I have been so excited to have my own house to decorate, but as I said before, I have problems.

When you first walk into our house there are two plant shelves that have been cut out of the top of our walls on both sides. Sorry, that is not a very good description. I'll post a picture.

To get to the heart of the problem. If any of you lovely people out there know what I can put up there to decorate, I would be a happy woman. There is just one thing...it can't cost me an arm and a leg. So, PLEASE, post me some beautiful ideas...or pictures if you can.

THANKS!!

The Radio Doesn't Help

I got in my car this morning ten minutes earlier than normal, so that I could get to work on time in this blizzardy condition.

Right when I was backing out of my garage the radio pipes in, "Today is not the day to be on the roads. If at all possible, you should stay home." The radio continued to list the numerous accidents on the roads that I would face.

Too bad I had to work today.

I was ten minutes late to work.

Are you my primary teacher?

Today was my first day with my new primary class. The primary presidency decided that they wanted to switch things up a bit. They put me teaching the 5 and 6 year old kids. Wow, I went from teaching seven-year-olds, to five-year-olds. You wouldn't think that was a big jump, but it sure made a difference to me.

When I walked into sharing time with all of the primary kids, it was chaos. There were kids running around, kids clinging to their parents, and some very few kids sitting in their chairs quietly. I really wanted to be running around with the crazy kids, but decided to be a good, quiet teacher and sat in my "assigned" seat.

As my new kids filed into our row, they all looked at me a little wearily. They weren't to sure about this new teacher. Finally one little boy asked, "Are you my new primary teacher?"

I smiled as warmly and reassuringly as I could. I didn't want them scared of me...yet. I replied, "Yep!"

As we finally got through the chaos of sharing time, we were off to class. The kids were all pretty good, but obviously were still a little nervous about change. I had one fearless boy, however, that was up for anything. We shall call him Bobby.

Bobby raced out of sharing time and shouted for the rest of the class to follow him to the classroom. Bobby soon got lost in the rest of the children also trying to find their new classrooms. As he burst through the crowd he looked back and saw none of his classmates OR his new teacher.

I noticed Bobby up ahead and tried to coral the rest of the kids in his direction.

Finally getting into the classroom, I began the lesson. Throughout the lesson, Bobby and his fellow classmate we will call Fred, were constantly chatting. I gave them a couple of warnings and then finally told them that if I had to warn them once more I was going to separate them. Those boys quieted down and the warning was forgotten.

As class time finished up Bobby came up to me and asked a question, "Sister Post, what does separate mean?"

The light clicked on for me. I knelt down and tried to explain the word separate.

Yeah, I really need to get used to this little kid thing.

The Funeral

My companion is being put to rest.

It has taken numerous beatings over the last two and a half years. It has met asphalt, concrete, rock, linoleum, or anything that incidentally has been under my feet.

Yes, my motorola phone of the ancientiest kind is being replaced by a fancy new nokia.

I still can't figure out how it works...

p.s. If anyone wants my new number call me on the old number, I'll still have it for a bit.

White Elephant

Ever since I can remember, my parents have always had animals at our house. We've had bajillions of cats, some dogs, and a few rabbits. ALL of these animals have been outside pets...until Rizzo.

Rizzo in a cat. He was born about four or five months ago with three kitty siblings. Those kitty siblings were literally "loved to death" by the other new pet addition, Emmett. Emmett is a very lovable, very in your face, very much so puppy. He really liked playing with those new little baby kittens, but they just didn't last through his loving.

My little sister, Karli, was devastated by the loss of the kittens and took the last one in as her own. Being the youngest child, she has quite the persuasive skills. My mother caved and allowed Karli to take the baby kitten inside.

This cat has really become a nuisance to almost everyone that enters my parent's house. Rizzo loves to follow people around. He hates to be alone, even when he sleeps. He also has to sleep under the covers. Rizzo also hates to sleep with Karli, ironic.

A month ago while I was talking to my dad on the phone, he periodically would yell at Rizzo. Things like, "Stupid cat," "go bother somone else," or my favorite, "WHY IS THIS CAT IN THE HOUSE?!" Dad then asked me if I wanted a cat. I said, "If you give me $50, I will take that cat off of your hands."

Dad's reply, "...okay!"

That little deal fell through. Karli was not going to let that cat out of the house.

For Christmas this year, Stephen and I went to my parents house. We had decided earlier, that every person was going to bring a white elephant gift to the Christmas party. The rules: you couldn't spend money on the gift and whatever present you opened you took home...regardless.

On Wednesday night everyone gathered downstairs and put our individually wrapped gifts in the corner of the room. Dad was the last one to enter the room with his gift and a characteristic grin that told everyone who knew him that he was up to something.

I looked at Dad and said, "Dad! You have that look. What did you do?"

He ignored me and told me to start the game. Being the youngest, Karli was the first one to pick a present. Before Karli could even get out of her chair, Kory yelled, "THAT PRESENT IS MOVING!"

We all turned to look at the green package that had another gift on top of it. The green package shook and Karli yelled, "DID YOU WRAP MY CAT?!?"

That was too much for Dad, he broke down in a fit of laughter. He had wrapped Rizzo! That man was really desperate. And I'm sure that he wanted to get a laugh.

To watch the unwrapping of Rizzo, see video below: This is Krystal's husband Shane.

K-I-S-S-I-N-G

My kids in primary love to try and scare me. They have never succeeded, but they keep trying. Almost all of them get to the classroom before me. They turn off the lights and find a place to hide in the classroom. Some hide behind the door, some hide under the table, some behind the chairs. They now, however, have found a new hiding place...the garbage can. I don't know what it is with boys and garbage cans, but they really seem to have a fascination with it.

When I walked in the classroom on Sunday, they again tried to scare me. I tried a new tactic to try and get them to calm down. I started to sing church Christmas songs to them while setting the classroom up. It worked for all of them except for my two trouble makers, Billy and Sam.

All of the class with the exception of the two boys sat in their chairs and began to sing with me. My two boys decided to be kind to one another and at least share the garbage can. Let me help you picture these two. Billy and Sam had their heads underneath the garbage can with their heads facing one another. I tried and I tried to get that thing off of their heads, but forcing them to do it, just made them run right back to it. Finally, I turned to the rest of the class and said, "Okay kids, we need to give Billy and Sam some time alone while they are kissing!"

I have never seen Sam so quick in being obedient. He ripped that garbage can off of his head and said, "Gross! We're not kissing, we're boys!"

I had a really hard time suppressing my giggles as I began class. That was fun.
