Taste the Rainbow

I took this a few weeks ago and then forgot about it. Good thing I remembered so that all of you can enjoy the coolness as well. I know that it didn't really fit perfect, but I think it looks pretty cool. If you look carefully at the left side of the rainbow, you can see a hint of the second rainbow above the original. Isn't the earth beautiful?

Memorial Day Weekend

Whoa...this weekend was chore weekend. We got so many things accomplished AND IT FEELS SO GOOD!

We got rid of all of the weeds in our side yard. Enough said. Believe me, that was quite a task. I had kind of ignored it and it got WAY out of hand. Now that it is all clean, we can rock it!

Stephen came up with a great idea for my garden. Doesn't it look so cute! What a cute little white picket fence! When I was a little girl I always wanted my house to be surrounded by a cute little white picket fence. I finally got it!

Things are starting to come up in my garden! I go outside at least twice a day to just look at my garden. I feel so proud! I noticed right when things started to come up. See my corn? Oh it's so cute!

GARDEN!?!

After much long and arduous hard work, I now have a garden. On Friday evening at 9:00p.m., Stephen and I finished planting the last of our future crops.

Here is my hubby planting one of our green peppers. He was having a really hard time deciding whether to plant the green peppers in front, or the red peppers. Decisions, decisions.

After much deep thought and consideration, these are the plants that made it to the garden: we have raspberries, strawberries, flowers, corn, pumpkins, green beans, zucchini, onions, cucumbers, red peppers, green peppers, carrots, and tomatoes (which Stephen lovingly calls strawberries. I guess he figures that they are both red...)

We went to church today, bragging of our huge feat. After telling a fellow church member of our pumpkins, he stopped us and said, "You CANNOT plant pumpkins. They are the worst to take care of!"

I stopped him and said, "But I have to try it just once!"

His reply, "That's what they say about meth too! I'm just going to try it once...look what happens to them!"

So...future pumpkin planters beware. It is comparable to meth...

What girl scouts need to learn.

It is getting close to summer, therefore close to camping season. The young adults are on the lookout for gullible money givers. All of them are trying to earn money to go to scout camp or girls camp. Take your pick. Girls or Boys. The guys help with the yard work and the girls make you sweets.

Stephen came home from church, the first Sunday in May, with a little less money than he went in with. He had this sad little look on his face. This is what he said, "I signed up to buy two ice cream pies from the young women." After seeing the look on my face he quickly replied, "It was for a good cause!...and they passed it around on fast Sunday!...I was hungry..."

Poor guy didn't even have a chance. I guess the girls won out. If only the girl scouts knew how to take advantage of this great money making opportunity...fast Sunday.

My latest stupid...

I love opening a new bottle of shampoo and conditioner. I always get a whole bunch of different kinds because the kind you are using always gets boring. A couple of weeks ago they had a sale on some Dove shampoo and conditioner and I bought some. The other day I ran out of my old stuff and grabbed my new Dove stuff. While in the shower doing my usual routine, I opened the shampoo and put some in my hand. I rubbed it in my hair while enjoying the new scent of grapefruit. I love grapefruit! After rinsing out the shampoo, I grabbed the bottle behind the shampoo and opened it and put it into my hand. It looked just like the shampoo...huh. I looked at the bottle and it said shampoo. I laughed at myself, thinking I'd grabbed the wrong bottle. I grabbed the other bottle. It said shampoo too. I'm an idiot. I bought two shampoos and no conditioner. Gggggrrrrrr. Now I don't have any pretty conditioner to use with my shampoo. Whatever.

AAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

I could not sleep last night...I have been SSSSOOOOOO excited! Stephen woke up at 5:15 this morning to go play basketball and I couldn't go back to sleep because I was so antsy! Look what I got at exactly 2:23 pm today:

ISN'T THAT THE COOLEST THING YOU HAVE EVER SEEN!!!!!!!! I REALLY CAN'T PUT ENOUGH EXCLAMATION MARKS ON THAT. I HAVE A PINANO!!!!!! ISN'T IT BEAUTIFUL?!?!?!?!? AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had the scariest dream

I dreamt that Stephen and I were living with Mom & Dad Post, Marc & Kenna, and Nicole & Rustin & the boys. Nicole and I were both pregnant with sextuplets. Yeah, I think everyone involved in that dream would also agree.

Don't My Strawberries Look Amazing!!!

As per the title to my post:

It has been raining like crazy the last couple weeks, and that has probably been my saving grace. This whole garden thing has just been so fun! I know, another one of those retarded homemaker moments...my mother will be so proud. We are still working on the raspberries, but they look better than they did a few days ago.

According to Old Indian Boise Legend, you are not allowed to plant anything that has the potential to die before the snow is off of Bogus Basin Mountain. (I'm just kidding about the Indian Legend thing, but it sounded good...right?) EVERYONE I have asked about gardening around here tells me that, so I am still waiting to plant. That snow had better melt soon, or my pumpkins won't be ripe in October for Halloween!!

My New Favorite Rice Krispy Treat

I have been waiting for a long time to make this special little treat. I had originally planned on doing it for Easter, but we were too busy. We made them on Sunday night and they are WAY good! I know you just want to lick the screen.

Here is what you do: First you make rice krispy treats.

Melt: 1/4 cup butter
1 (10oz) bag marshmallows
Mix: 6 cups rice krispies

Put rice krispies in fridge until no longer "really sticky". Mold rice krispies into balls and dip into melted almond bark chocolate and then dip rice krispies into sprinkles. Allow them to set and then enjoy!

I bought a bag of 15 oz marshmallows, while the recipe calls for 10 oz. Stephen loves marshmallows, and kept eating them out of the bag. After stealing a couple he looked at me and said, "Is it okay that I am eating the marshmallows that are for the rice krispy treats?"

I showed him the bag that said 15 oz and then the recipe that said 10 oz and then replied, "That's fine."

He then asked, "How many fines can I have?"

My hubby is so funny.

Only A Father Would Be Proud

Yesterday, the builder of our home called me and asked if he could bring a couple by to look at our house. I have been sick this whole week and so my house was a wreck. I'm serious...a wreck.

I asked him to give me a couple of short hours to hurry and clean the place up to make it presentable. In my rush to clean, I made my way to my bathroom to put away some of my earrings that I had found. Losing my grip, I watched as my pretty little earring fell down the drain. Without losing a beat I opened the cupboard underneath my sink and began to unscrew the u-pipe thingy (yes, that is the technical term). I held a towel underneath me just in case I spilled water. I carefully poured the water out of the pipe into the other sink...voila...I had found my earring!

I was very proud of myself! Thanks to my dad I didn't even freak out. I just solved the problemo. THANKS PA!!
