Our Red House

Ever since Stephen and I moved into our house, I have wanted to paint my kitchen red. Those little cards that have different colors of paint on them have been collecting on my counter. All of them have been impatiently waiting months for me to pick my favorite red. The red of choice became cherry cobbler.

A week and a half ago the project began. Slowly but surely the tan went to pink and the pink went to red. Here are the results...

Hubby Tag

1-Where did you meet your husband?
Stephen's brother is married to my cousin. My cousin, Mitzi, started telling me about Stephen when she came to visit just after I came home from my mission. She told me that he was 6'2" or 3" and I instantly lost interest. I actually met him a year later and thought, "Wow...he is hot!" The rest you know...

2- How long did you date before getting married?
We started dating in August 2007. Stephen said the "m" word in September 2007. I moved to Boise in November 2007 and he proposed after Thanksgiving...a few days after my brother's wedding. We were married in January 2008.

3-How long have we been married?
WE HAVE NOW BEEN MARRIED FOR ONE YEAR AND ONE MONTH!!!! Still going strong.

4- What does he do that surprises you?
He takes VERY good care of me. I guess you don't expect men to really be the doting types, but when I am sick he is right there. Sometimes, I like it when I am sick because then I get extra attention.

5- What is your favorite feature of his?
I love his twinkling eyes and his easy smile. He loves to make people laugh. It shows that he is good at it all over his face.

6- What is his best quality?
His family relationships. Because of how Stephen is with his family I can tell that when we have kids he is always going to be involved and helping. He is always up to date with his siblings and parents and always thinking of ways to help.

7-Does he have a nickname for you?
He calls me babe a lot, but has been trying to cut back after watching that episode of The Office. He also calls me his "little skylark"...

8- What is his favorite food?
Hamburgers, Sour Cream, Sugar, Steak, Goolosh...lots of stuff.

9- What is his favorite sport?
Basketball. He LOVES basketball. He also loves golf and football.

10- When did you first kiss?
We met the day before my birthday in June 2007. I'm sure that he wanted to kiss me then, but like a gentleman he waited for a couple more meetings. After all, we were long distance dating. He waited until we had gotten together the fourth time in August 2007.

11- What is your favorite thing to do as a couple?
Everything. We really just like being together. We like to play outdoors together, watch Justice League and Reba together, make dinner together, go to the gym together, read together, lots of things.

12- Do you have any children?
Nope, we hope that eventually we will.

13- Does he have any hidden talents?
He is a very good cook. He does a mean chicken parmigiana and eggs!

14- How old is he?
He is 25 going on 5...

15- What is his favorite music?
Country...just kidding. He HATES country, but he puts up with it for my sake. I would say that his favorite music is the landscape music. You know those CD music stands they have at Target and Walmart that have Celtic music or ocean music or guitar music? He loves those. He has been working up a collection.

16- What do you admire about him?
I love his soft heart. He has an acute awareness of those around him. He is careful of others' feelings. I am kind of cold hearted and speak my mind regardless, but behind closed doors he carefully makes me aware of how to be kinder. Stephen is an AMAZING man.

17- What's his favorite color?
Green. The color of manliness.

18- Will he read this?
Yep!

19- Who said "I love you first"?
He did. I could tell that he was really nervous. I kissed him right after he told me and then said that I loved him too. Later he told me there were a few times on the phone that he wanted to say it, but realized that over the phone was not the appropriate time. I actually knew when those times were when we were talking on the phone.

20- Who do I tag??? Charisse, MY MOTHER, Tonya

Geiser Grand

Ever since Stephen and I have been married we have tried to go to the infamous Geiser Grand Hotel with Morgan and Jess. The hotel is in Baker City, OR and is said to be haunted. This last weekend we finally did it. We were looking for scary...like Ghost Hunters or Sam and Dean or a bunch of crazy kids.

When we first got to the hotel we were all so giddy. Yes, especially the boys. The hotel was built in the early 1900's and was big in the 1920's. The hotel was revamped in the 1980's. It was the coolest old hotel I've ever been to. It was way fun! Check out the pictures of our fun adventure.

The inside of the hotel was very old Victorian.

Finally, this is a video that we took while driving out of town. Stephen and Morgan found the ultimate scary place in Baker City.

Goodbye Little Ones

No more funny stories about my kids. I know. You're heartbroken. I am too. They took me out of teaching primary. They put me in Relief Society. Now I have to find more kids to write about. They are a lot more funny. But...there's always Stephen!
