Favorites

My kids have both chosen a "favorite" person.  Neither of them chose Stephen or me.  Maycee's favorite was chosen and noticeable long ago.  Aunt Karli.  She tells people that frequently.

"Karli is my favorite aunt!"

She blurts this out at random times and places.

Cooper's favorite used to be me, Mom.  That began to change when Stephen and I left our kids with my parents for a week while we were cruising.  I had to pry Cooper off of my dad.  I was a little bothered...to say the least.

Cooper's obsession with my dad has grown exponentionally.

Tonight we had a work picnic for Stephen.  In the parking lot there was a white Toyota Tundra.  That just happens to be the same pickup that my dad drives.  When Cooper saw that pickup, he flipped out.  "PAPA!!!  PAPA!!!!!"

I cannot believe he knew and recognized my dad's pickup.

According to my dad, it is all because of the Creamies and motorcycle rides.

I kinda doubt that.

Conversation

I love having conversations with Maycee.  I wish I could write down every funny thing she says and show her when she grows up.  I'll say, "See!  You were the funniest little kid ever."

Anyway.

Last night we were outside enjoying the cool evening in the back yard.  Maycee ran up to the fire pit and touched the edge with her finger.

Kami: Maycee, we don't touch the fire pit.
Maycee: NOPE!  Because we put fire in it.
K: Yes, we put fire in it.

Maycee started to run in circles on the grass and talk in her 'sing-song' voice.

M: And we cook marshmallows in it....
K: Yep, we cook marshmallows in it.
M: And we cook hot dogs in it....
K: Yep, we cook hot dogs in it.
M: And we cook Daddy in it....
K: No, we don't cook Daddy in it!

Maycee stops running and looks at me.

M: Why don't we cook Daddy in it?
K: Because Daddy wouldn't taste very good.

Maycee then went on to ask about eating the rest of our family and then onto any random object that was in her sights.

That girl is funny.

Other pix.

We kind of got some of Maycee and Cooper.  I know we'll have to do them again in a month and a half, but their relationship will definitely change having a third person to fight with....

This is when Cooper noticed the duck in the water.

Um.  Wow.  It was VERY difficult to try and get both of those kids smiling and looking at the camera at the same time!  We have a lot of funny "out takes".

I also had to add this SUPER cute picture I got of Cooper.

The rest of the batch.

Here is the picture overload.  I really have a hard time nixing pictures of Maycee.

Besides, she's my kid!

Seriously.

This girl cracks me up.

Maycee 3 year pix

These are my favorites.  She did SO well this year!!!!  Stephen helped the true Maycee come out.  I'm going to post the absolute favorites on this post.  Next post, I'll put the bajillions that I love.

Stephen says that he is going to do a throwing picture with every kid....until he can't.

Things my husband has made me care about.

So, first things first.  Stephen really likes Boise State.  My favorite was when Kellen Moore was the quarterback.  Seriously, he was awesome. AND he is a super nice guy!  Not your typical cocky football player.  Not that we were bff's or anything, but anytime he was on the camera he seemed pretty humble.

Anyway, Kellen Moore was drafted last year as a third string quarterback for the Detroit Lions.  Apparently at his last game he got some playing time against the other teams second string quarterback.  According to Stephen, Kellen was at his Boise State playing best.  Also according to Stephen, if Kellen moves up in the ranks, he will have to become a Detroit Lions fan.

Now for my second, and a little disturbing, bit of news.  The next Superman movie to come out, will have Batman.  That's not the disturbing part.  The disturbing part is that they have cast Ben Affleck as Batman!

Ben Affleck?!

Seriously!!!!!!

Eeewwwww.

I am extremely disturbed.

Swimming Lessons: The Finale

A family in our ward put in a pool this summer.  They wanted to get their boys practiced in teaching swimming lessons.  Maycee and her friend, Betty, were asked to be the guinea pigs.  It was so fun to watch the two of them together.

Here are some pictures of the two of them.

Thanks, Brion, for helping Maycee learn how to glide!  I love asking her to stand in the glide position.

The Hog

Krystal says that she is on a quest to be Cooper's favorite since Maycee has chosen Karli.  Shane and Krystal got the hog running, and so to please Cooper, they brought it over to give him a ride.  I don't know how Maycee got on it first....

Krystal says that all she needs now is Creamies.

Cooper loved the motorcycle.  I know that his facial expressions don't do much to help people understand his deep love of motorcycles, but just take my word for it.  He does.
