Daddy Extraordinaire

Last night I had a Relief Society Meeting at 7pm.

I came home a little after 8 to see all of the couch cushions torn off the couch and strewn all over the floor.

I walked into Maycee's room where Stephen was getting Maycee into her pjs after giving her a bath.

"So why are the couch cushions on the floor?"

"Oh, I built a maze for Maycee to crawl through. She made it!"

COOLEST. DAD. EVER.

Okay

So...Maycee started to crawl a week and a half ago. Yesterday she finally understood what it meant to crawl. Mobility.

She found the door stop. She just keeps pulling it. She loves the "twang" sound it makes. She finally got it off and was chewing on it.

While I was in the shower, Maycee found the plastic bag full of toilet paper next to the toilet. She somehow pulled the toilet paper out of the bag and unrolled a few feet of tp. She loved to crinkle it in her hands.

Finally she found my plants. She didn't even get to the dirt. She was too busy pulling the leaves off.

Honestly, I thought the whole thing was hilarious.

I'm sure after doing this for months on end, I won't think it is so funny, BUT here's to having fun with a mobile toddler!

Living Room Updates

I have had a very hard time decorating our living room. The wall with the TV is HUGE and very intimidating.

I finally thought of a really good idea, but found that I would need to save up my money for a while....BUT I finally did it! I purchased some fancy-schmancy book shelves!

Here is the pre-coolness:

Stephen worked so hard to build my shelves.

....TA DA!!!

I am so proud of myself! Doesn't it look so good? We finally have a family picture hung up now. It feels so different, but I love it!

Cruisin'

Maycee got to experience her first piece of farm life this past weekend...the fun part. Motorcycle riding!

She really didn't seem all that amused though. She never smiled or at least she never cried. She rode with my dad and even caught a little "air", but Dad got yelled at for that one...

Ride Maycee, ride!

Week #5

This week we talked about composition and the rule of thirds. Our assignment was to choose an object and tell a story about it with your picture. Here are the results:

Skilz

I have found a way to keep Maycee entertained for...a really long time.
The PIANO!
She loves to bang on the keys. It is so fun to watch her learn all of these new things. Keep it up little Mayee. We love you!

!!!!!!

MAYCEE SAID MAMA!

Maycee Accomplishments

Maycee has been working up a storm.
Working on her cuteness meter.
Just in case you are wondering...it has recently skyrocketed as she now has learned to smile for the camera. Soon she is going to be a poser. I can tell. I blame Karli.
Read along further to view Maycee's recent accomplishments/feats/allergies...
1. Maycee clicks her tongue. It is SO cute! She does it very softly, but it makes me smile.
2. Says Dada. Or in reality she says dadadadadadadadadada. NOT mama. I've been working very hard on that one, but have failed miserably.
3. She LOVES her blanket and her Ellie. (Ellie is the name of her stuffed elephant) Both are very soft and every time she touches one of them she buries her head in them. When she sleeps she cuddles up in her blanket.
4. Sits up. She's been sitting up for a few weeks now, but she is getting really good at nose dives when she wants something that is out of her reach. She is quite a professional. It's funny to watch.
5. Much to Stephen's excitement, she loves to play ball. Maycee was given a fabric ball that has places to hold on to. Her and Stephen roll that ball back and forth.
6. Along with constantly working her abs by doing sit ups, Maycee does push ups. I've been trying really hard to get a picture of it, but every time the camera focuses, she stops, turns towards the camera, and smiles.
Third times a charm. The picture is a little difficult to tell, but here she goes.
7. Tongue sucking. I know this sound really weird, but Maycee sucks her tongue. I did this when I was little. It is really silly to watch. She is quite noisy when she does it.
8. Gets out of her Bumbo. She is very flexible.
9. Sucks on her toes. Puts them next to her ear. It is so funny that babies are so flexible.
10. Screams VERY loud. She won't stop. When this phase ends I will be hard of hearing.
11. Sucks on Daddy's nose. Every time I've tried to get a picture she would do her thing. Look at the camera, try to smile.
12. Scratching her nails on...everything. Maycee loves the sound of her nails scratching any surface.
13. LOVES green beans. As of now, I would have to say that is her favorite food. She even likes them over her fruits. I've got a veggie lovin' baby.
14. Moving. As much as she would really like to go crawl forward, she cannot. She can only go backwards...still. And sideways. And the other sideways.
15. When Maycee gets excited she holds her arms out and shakes. She also does that when she wants to be picked up.
16. The picture beneath this says it all. Maycee is allergic to Krystal. This is proof. She barfed all over her. (This seriously has to be the funniest/grossest picture I have ever seen.)

17. Maycee constantly has her tongue out. It is just its permanent position.
