Volcanoes

We found a book at the library that had science experiments for kids.  An oldie, but a goodie, the baking soda volcano.

Princess Tea Party

The high school in our area is doing a production of Beauty and the Beast.  As an advertisement, they put on a tea party, with Belle and the castle objects, as hosts.  I told Maycee that she could dress up and she said that she wanted to go as Tinkerbell.  I was very surprised that she didn't say a princess, but I was all on board.  The quicker we get out of this princess stage, the better!

She went to her closet and pulled out her green dress, requested wings, and then raided my bathroom to find cotton balls that she could put on her shoes.  It was the cutest thing watching her rummage around to find her costume.

The fact that Belle was one of Maycee's beloved babysitters made us definite attenders.

Taking Maycee to this party was the funniest thing.  The older she gets, the more shy she seems to be around people she doesn't know.  When we arrived at the high school, a high school boy, that was helping at the tea party, asked her for her name.  Maycee buried her face in my dress.  I told the young man name and for the rest of the event everyone addressed her as Princess Maycee.  She tried to hide behind me whenever anyone would speak to her.  She avoided all eye contact and wouldn't say a word.

Wow.

That is not the Maycee I know.

Apparently she is more like me, as a child, then I realized.

We still had fun.  And she got to see her babysitter, Jessie.  And dress up as Tinkerbell.

Play dough

We made play dough today!  The kids took turns adding ingredients and stirring.  We had a lot of fun making and then playing.

I am very blessed that I can be a stay at home mom and do these fun things with my kiddos!!

Check out our play dough...we made it sparkly!!

Cooper/Stephen funnies.

1. We ran out of firewood this week, so we are back on using the heat pump.  The second thing that Cooper said this morning, right after, "I have to pee!" was "I miss the fire."  Poor kid.  He was SO sad.

2. I got a text from Stephen today that said, "If a girl cashier asks me if I have plans for the rest of the day, does that mean she is hitting on me?"

3. Quote from Cooper: "Mom, I wish you'd make golden toys for Daddy.  He'd like that."

3 Ingredient Chocolate Cake

So.  My plan was to make this super awesome cake for Valentine's Day.  So, I did.  However, I messed with the ingredients, as I sometimes am prone to do.  It was disgusting.  Seriously.  Stephen couldn't even choke it down.

So Cooper and I made the original the day after Valentine's Day for Family Home Evening.

That kid is so cute.

Kiddos

Oliver is randomly obsessed with Spiderman.  We have so much hand-me-down stuff with Spiderman.  He is also SUPER independent.  Having him after Cooper is a huge change.  Oliver had to put on his helmet by himself.

So cute.

Maycee reading her books to the boys.  I love it!

Look at how studious they look!

Ollie is crazy.  And he whacked his head really hard...

Can't do a picture of just one kid.

FHE Treat

Valentine's Day starts early for us.

I love a reason to go off the normal routine of things, so every few years we celebrate Valentine's Day for two weeks.

This was such a year!

Because of all of the celebrations, Maycee wanted to reflect that in her family home treat.  It was her turn.  So we had this:

Pink cake, purple frosting, and pink, purple, and red heart sprinkles.
