Goose Egg

About two minutes before Stephen got home, Maycee was watching for him out the window. I was in the other room dusting when I heard Maycee scream bloody murder. It was the kind of cry that meant she was hurt...bad.

I ran into the bedroom and saw Maycee on the floor, holding her head. I pulled her hand away and saw a little scrap on her eyebrow. As I examined her wound I saw it go from a pale white to a deep bluish-purple. The wound then raised about a quarter of an inch. It looked like she had a golf ball poking out of her eyebrow.

I kinda freaked out.

Luckily Stephen had just pulled up and calmed me down.

Maycee was screaming and I couldn't calm her. She wanted Daddy.

Stephen put an ice pack on her eye and soothed her. He's such a good Dad.

We took some pictures after an hour, but the swelling had gone down quite a bit.

Poor girl.

Mother of the Year

Today, primary was a little rough.

Cooper would not sleep.

Sadly, I think that lovely little stage is over...

While playing the opening songs, I had Cooper sitting on the bench with me...playing the iPad. Normally the iPad does NOT come to church, but I ran out of time to copy the songs down for primary so I just brought the iPad that had the information I needed.

Almost needless to say, halfway through playing Article of Faith #3, Cooper fell off. I immediately stopped playing to care for my wailing child...then picked up the last measure.

The ironic part is that when I put him on the bench with the iPad, I thought, "I should really put him on the floor."

I carried the wailing Cooper to Krystal.

AND remember that choir piece that is kicking my trash? It's still kicking my trash. I haven't practiced anything this much since college.

While playing for the choir this evening, Maycee came over and stood next to me. During the most difficult part of the piece, Maycee started jabbering my ear off. I have no idea what she was saying. I was too busy concentrating. Because I wasn't giving her any attention what-so-ever, I think she figured that the best way to get my attention was to help me out.

Little Maycee fingers started to play random notes in the middle of my "kicking trash" session.

There was nothing I could do about it without a big scene.

So I didn't.

I just panicked and tried to ask her "nicely" to stop.

Sundays are a little hectic.

Night #2

Last night was night number two with the "roommates".

Again there was a lot of giggling.

When Stephen and I went to check on the kids at 10 pm, the roommates were a little closer than expected. Maycee and Cooper were asleep in the crib. It was really cute.

Tonight Cooper wasn't to keen on having another person in his crib.

Hopefully we'll get this figured out sometime soon.

Outside

Today was an outside day.

It was BEAUTIFUL!!!

The kids thoroughly enjoyed their time.

Two cute kids.

Yesterday was Maycee's first night sleeping in her new bed.

We've been looking for a bunk bed for a while. We found one on an awesome deal and bought it. Along with a set of mattresses on sale. We were set. As an aside, Denver Mattress is the awesomest place to buy mattresses.

Anyway, we are putting the kids in the same bedroom. Last night I listened outside of the bedroom. Cooper in the crib, Maycee in the bottom bunk. In the beginning I could tell Cooper was standing in his crib. He was jabbering all over the place. I think he was excited about having a roommate. Maycee didn't say anything. She was reading.

After a few minutes it was quiet for about 30 seconds.

Then Cooper giggled.

Then Maycee giggled.

Cooper giggled again.

This went on for a few minutes.

It was super cute.

I love it when they get along.

This afternoon, I put Maycee and Cooper up to the table for lunch and then ran in to my bedroom to grab something. I was gone for a few minutes and when I came back there was a slight change of plans.

Maycee had gotten out the graham crackers.

Cooper was gnawing on the whole cracker. Maycee also had a cracker in her mouth.

Seriously though, I love that Maycee thought of her brother in her theft.

I feel like a nerd.

So...Sunday started out with me playing the organ. Then I went to the primary and played the piano for 2 hours. I finished off the church day by playing the piano for choir.

My poor little fingers were beat up.

Anyway...the piece that they are singing in choir is kicking my trash. Seriously. AND it's supposed to be super fast!

I've been calling my Mom for the last few days to try and catch her at home so I can have her put her metronome on the allotted speed number.  While talking to both Mom and Dad on the phone about my predicament, Dad said, "Why don't you download an app on your iPad so you can have your own metronome?"

...

I felt like the biggest nerd.

My very un-tech-savvy Dad is the one who thought of technology first. Why is it that my Dad is now the hip one and I am now old?

Round 3

So, I guess there really is no other way to say this.

Except to say it...

Baby Post #3 will arrive sometime around October 10th.

Watch out world, there will be 5 of us!

Stephen and I will be out numbered.

Currently we are 15 weeks along.

Weird.

It's flying by.

Cutie Oufits

So...because Easter was a SUPER crazy day, I didn't get any cute pictures of the kids in their new Easter outfits.

I decided this past Sunday would be as good a time as any.

Until my camera's battery died after 1 minute.  And since I no longer have a backup point-and-shoot, the photo shoot was over.

I still take a TON of pictures, but I didn't get what I wanted.

But I have to show you the takes.

Because they are my kids.

And I think they're cute/funny.

Handsome.

Whatever is the proper "term".

Why yes, that is a Steiger tire in the background.

Thanks, Dad!

Someday (I hope that someday comes SOON!) that tire will be full of sand.  Our kids will have the coolest sand box in the world.

P.S. And just in case I didn't mention this before, Maycee totally picked out that dress.

Cooper is a boy

This afternoon Cooper and Maycee played with cars for 45 minutes without interruption.

I was quite surprised and pleasantly able to make dinner.

The funny thing was that Cooper was the leader.  He took his car and drove it all over the house.  Maycee followed him.  It was almost as if she was copying him.  She's unsure of this "boy thing".

Yes, Maycee can get dirty with the best of them.  In her "princess" skirt.  That is as far as her tom-boy part of her goes.

I love watching the differences between the two of them.

Kids are fun.

Cooper's 1 Year Pix

My little boy is such a little man.

I love him!

I couldn't help myself with the suit.  Seriously.  He's, like, the cutest thing ever.

Can't decide if I like it better with a little color taken out, or not...

By the way, that little rocking chair is my Mom's.  From when she was a little one perusing the carpet.

This is his future GQ look.

He's got it down.

And his angry face.  This is the one that screams at me, "MOMMMMM, PICK ME UP!!!!"

He got his little suit muddy. :(

Stephen loves the throwing pictures.  These ones are really good.

Stephen had two requests for this photo shoot.

First Cooper had to take a picture with the basketball.

Second, Cooper had to take a picture on the pullup bar.  The women are going to swoon.

My two cutie men!

I love my little Cooper Man!

Like Maycee, Like Karli

Maycee is a little bit obsessed with Karli.  With any mention of Grandma or Grandpa, doesn't matter which, Maycee says, "Can I see Karli?"  She is not going to be very happy when Karli goes to college.

Because of this obsession, Karli has taken in upon herself to make Maycee just like her.  Honestly, that wouldn't be so bad.  Karli's a good kid.  (Don't tell her I said that...)  However, Maycee is trying to be a mini-Karli.

A while back, out of the blue, not even cold weather, Maycee requested hot chocolate.  If any of you have been around Karli for more than a day you will know that is her number 2 staple.  The first staple is Taylor Swift.  (Or boys...don't tell her I said that either.)

In the car yesterday we heard the song "22" by Taylor Swift.  I have never even heard that song before.  In the middle of the song Maycee says, "Mom, this is Karli's favorite.  This is my favorite, too."  Maycee also frequently requests to hear, 'the goat song'.  Long and drawn out story, but that is another song by Taylor Swift, "I Knew You Were Trouble".

I have no idea what Stephen is going to do if Maycee's love of Taylor Swift escalates to the same level as Karli's.  He might ban our house of all things Taylor Swift...poor Maycee.

Cooper's 1 year checkup

Now that Cooper is getting older, I requested to have Stephen come with me for the shots.

I don't like it when my little boy cries!

All in all, he handled it pretty well.

Stats:
20 lbs - 8th Percentile
29 in - 16th Percentile
