Best. Day. Ever.

I love holidays.  It really doesn't matter what holiday it is.  On Monday we celebrated Memorial Day!!  I really need to find a cool way to really celebrate that holiday, but this year it was family day.

We started off our morning by going on our first ever family bike ride.  Now we've gone on a lot of bike rides previous to this one, but this one was monumental.  Maycee rode her own bike.  When Maycee turned two, my parents got her a Strider bike.  She picked up on that thing very quickly.  It is now her favorite thing to do outside.  So this year Maycee was fast enough to ride with us!  Stephen had on the bike trailer with the boys inside and Maycee rode the Strider in between Stephen and I on our own bikes.  It was so fun!!

Sorry no pix. :(

That afternoon we met Marc and Kenna for a picnic at a park close to their house.  It was awesome.

I do have a few pictures of that event!  Cooper was obsessed with a little school bus that you could drive.

Stephen and Marc's play toy.  That thing just turned them in circles.  It kinda made me sick.  I don't know why, but Stephen in drawn to those things.  Turning in circles makes me want to hurl.

Maycee went from one playmate to another.  She is such a social butterfly.  I think she played with at least 4 other kids, all at different times, while at that park.  That so was not me.

Cooper kept stealing Marc's football so that he could put it on the school bus.

Our shady eatin' place.

After naps that afternoon we pulled out the kids' pool and let them play around in it.  It was actually quite cold, but Stephen started a water fight that Maycee was not going to back down from.  They all ended up soaking wet.  Cooper was kind of an innocent bystander.  He doesn't like cold water.  Like his mom.  He would splash someone and then run away, giggling.

Warming up on the cement.  I remember doing this when I was growing up!

I have the cutest family ever!

Mommy/Maycee Date Night

I love being able to go out with just my little girl.  I think that most of the dates we have been on together have been shopping for clothes for Maycee.  I don't think Maycee really cares because we always go out for a treat afterwards.  She also doesn't have her brothers around to compete for attention.

While at dinner, we have started a new tradition.  We go around the table and ask,  "What was sad about your day?  What was happy about your day?"  Maycee asks Stephen and me the questions and either Stephen or I ask Maycee.  A lot of the time I wonder if Maycee really understands those emotions.  Her answers don't always fit the question.  While at Dairy Queen, I asked Maycee the questions.  Her responses fit perfectly.

"Maycee, what was sad about your day?"

"Daddy ate my bread," she said.

"What was happy about your day?"

"I got to go on a date with Mommy!"

It sure made my day!

Just as a little side note, I have learned something about Maycee.  About six months in to preschool, Maycee started to tell me that she wanted to be a teacher when she grows up.  She has told me that at least four times.  It will be neat to see if she keeps to that answer!

The Main Event - Cooper's 2 year pictures

Two and a half months late.

Better late than never.

I've decided that I just have to take pictures every year.  Just so long as the kid is still 2, it's still his second birthday photo shoot.

The perfect way to end a photo shoot.

The "Must Have's"

I wonder how long Stephen's going to keep this up.  I will have documented proof on the date and the kid....

Cutie pictures while on Cooper's photo shoot.

Play Date

Getting everyone to look at me was impossible.

Funny

The other day Maycee was playing with Stephen's hair, when she stopped and pointed to his "sparse" spot and said, "It 's not growing very well right there!"

...

Bwahahahahaha

AND Tuesday night I learned another Maycee funny.

After Krystal had yelled at Dexter, her dog, Maycee said, "Your dog doesn't listen very well.  You should get a new one."

Krystal retorted, "Does your Dad say that to you?"

I don't know what happened in the conversation after that. :)

Happenings

So.

Life has been happening around us the last few weeks.  It's crazy how quickly it goes.  The kiddos are awesome and we've been starting to plan our summer.  Yeah!!!

Some things I really want to remember of the kiddos.

Cooper no longer calls his blanket "di di".  He now calls it his "drinkie".

Oliver is learning to sit up.  I know, I know, he's 7 1/2 months old.

Maycee found a word she cannot say.  It's driving her crazy.  She's been practicing for three days.  "Rule."  She can't say it.

Oliver has crazy monkey arms.  He can reach things that a normal baby could not reach.  Insert picture from my mom....  He was in my mom's high chair and reached the open baby food, that I thought was far enough away, as I ran to help one of the other kiddos.

Cooper has begun to tell me that he needs his diaper changed.  I'm a little in denial.  Maycee still is not potty trained.  She has definitely put me through the ringer.  I DON'T want to start another one.

Cooper calls flop flops, bop bops.  It's the cutest thing.

Maycee eats her boogers.

Oliver and I now have full blown conversations.  He jabbers in a gravely voice.  I growl back.  This goes on for a while sometimes.  I love this little guy.

Random pictures of the kiddos:

I love this one.  Cooper is reading to Oliver.

Doesn't Lexi looked thrilled to be with Stephen?

Maycee and Jovie play date.

I love that Ollie loves his blanket.

The band-aid on the side of his head is a result of...we have no idea.  Cooper came screaming out his bedroom with blood gushing out of his wound.  It was gross.  He'll have a pretty cool scar though!

Krystal's birthday barbecue.
