A Special Experience

Two weeks ago we were able to go to Logan to a very special event. I knew six months ago we would be involved in this event, but I never realized until that moment, what was really happening.

My brother, Kory, and his wife, Charisse, were sealed to their little baby boy, Boston.

It wasn't until Kory and Charisse were on the altar with Boston, being eternally linked, that I understood the importance of our temples.

I've always known about the blessings and covenants that we make there, but I had a "clearer view" in Logan that day.

I am eternally grateful to a Heavenly Father that has given us the power to be together forever.  He gave us these temples to help ensure our eternity.

And yes, I totally stole those pictures from Krystal.

Outdoor Fun

Cooper now has a bajillion balls.

He loves them.

Two days ago we put them to good use.

Slowly, But Surely

Cooper is a thinker. You can tell by the look on his face. He's been like that since birth. Random people always comment on his "concerned" look. He's just figuring things out.

One of the ways that Cooper figures things out is by picking them up and examining them. He turns it over and over in his hands and stares his object down. He's also done that with food. As much as he loves that stuff he wouldn't put food in his mouth.

Ladies and gentlemen, I am here to tell you that Cooper has finally learned to put food in his mouth. It's a slow process, but he's learning.

Of course we had to add cute pictures of Daddy and Maycee.

Maycee say it

Maycee has a rote prayer that she says all of the time. We always try to get her to change it up, but it never really changes without a little help from Mom and Dad.

Here it is:

Dear Heavenly Father. Bless Grandma and Grandpa. Thank you for this day. Jesus Christ Amen.

That's it. Total.

Today after she said her rote prayer for lunch, with help from Mom to bless the food, she said, "Mom, I forgot to bless Daddy."

She then started her rote prayer all over again and then added, "Please bless Daddy."

I thought that was kind of sweet.

"Hate"r

I don't understand why the mom's of the world have not come together before now to abolish Daylight Savings Time.  Since hate is such a strong word, I will use very strongly dislike.

Maycee is loving daylight savings time.

This is what we found her doing when Stephen and I went for a walk just after we put the kids to bed.

Again, bad picture, but this is Maycee sitting in her windowsill watching all of the people and animals roam around our house.  She talks to them.  She loves that she can now see when she goes to bed.

Cooper is another story.  He has always been a stellar sleeper and has rarely cried when we put him to bed.  He has now cried himself to sleep every night since Sunday.

I loathe Daylight Savings Time.

Official

So I am calling it official as of....now.

Cooper has teeth.

I know, he's one, but he has two teeth!  The two bottom ones have been trying to poke through for a month and a half, no joke, but they have finally broken the surface.

Good thing for Cooper, that he is an AWESOME gummer and can eat almost anything without teeth.  He would have found a way to survive without those teeth.

He loves food.

Happy Birthday Baby Boy!

I cannot believe that my Cooper is 1!  This year has flown by SO fast.  He has really been such a good little baby.  AND HE'S NOT A BABY ANY MORE!!!  So weird.

For Cooper's birthday we went easy and simple.  Things that I knew Cooper would enjoy.

We made cupcakes and Cooper got his first taste of sugar.  Honestly, I don't think he was a fan.  He seems like more of a "meat and potatoes" guy.  He just wants real food.  He always chokes down the fruit I give him because he knows after that he will get the main course.

Silly boy.

As a side note, Maycee broke our little point-and-shoot camera, so we don't have that great of pictures.  We used the ipad (that doesn't have a flash) and our camcorder that can take pictures (crappy pictures).  If I would have had my head on straight I would have just gotten out my "big camera".  But I didn't.  So here are the crappy pictures.

Cooper and Maycee and Mommy eating frosting.

We went to the park!  What kid doesn't like the park!

We also played ball at the park.  Cooper is truly Stephen's son and a definite boy.  He loves balls.  Any kind.  He could throw them forever and be content.  No pix of the balls.

After the park we had a dinner of spaghetti.  Both kids will eat spaghetti anytime, so I figured it was as close to a favorite as I was going to get.

Then we went to U-swirl!

Again, Cooper wasn't really a fan.  Maycee ate Stephen's yogurt and then picked all of the good stuff out of mine.

Time for presents!  Cooper got clothes.  I know, so boring.  But he also got a...

really cool dump truck!

Have to take cupcake pictures!

Happy Birthday Cooper-man!  We love you!!!!
