Text

For Maycee's birthday last year she received the Little People Disney Princesses.  For Christmas Cooper got the Little People DC Comics Superheros.

This morning I sent a text to Stephen.

Kami: Just FYI...Batman is currently kissing Belle.
Stephen: That's okay. He's Batman. He can do what he wants.
Kami: You're such a man.

Rice Cereal

Ollie has, by far, been the easiest kid to start on rice cereal.  He has no problem eating that gross stuff, but he gets a little angry after a while because it is not coming fast enough and he can't quite figure out that darn spoon.  We started him Thursday, almost a week ago.  Mommy is again happy because he now sleeps through the night again.

Here's our little guy before the big start.  So happy!

And the after...why does Daddy get the big smile?

Preschool-Batman

Today we had another preschool field trip.

To the dentist!!!

Maycee has been SO excited to go and see the dentist.  I scheduled the whole thing.  We went to see our dentist, Dr. Hymas.  It just so happens that our dentist is Maycee's swimming teacher's dad.  ...If you got all that.  I kept telling her we were going to see Stacie's dad.  I wanted her to be excited for this trip.  And she was for a whole week and a half.  When we got to the office it was another story.

Maycee became very shy and reluctant when we walked into the back room to learn about taking care of our teeth.  She wouldn't let go of my hand.  She allowed Dr. Hymas to put one of the dental tools on her fingernail after she had watched every other kid get the same thing done to them first.  That happened with all of the other tricks that Dr. Hymas tried to 'perform' with the kids.  Maycee was always last.  I really hope that she will do okay with her first dental appointment.

On to another note...Cooper is the funniest kid on the planet.  I think he will be our comedian of the family.  Along with the title of 'Stunt Man' and 'Trouble-Maker'.

For Christmas, I made the kids capes.  Maycee isn't a fan of hers.  Cooper loves his.  The other morning he requested to wear his and then grabbed the closest Batman figure he could find, Bat girl.  I asked Cooper where Batman was and he looked and his figurine.  After he realized that it wasn't Batman, he threw her down.

Whenever the cape first goes on, Cooper runs around the couch in it.  I think he likes the way it blows behind him.  He also has a Batman voice.  I have no idea how he came up with it because he refuses to sit and watch anything.  His Batman voice is deep and gravely.  He calls him 'Ahban', in his Batman voice.

I love it.

Uh-oh

I think this kid is going to be...

a thumb-sucker.

I said that about both Maycee and Cooper, but they both sucked on their thumbs minimally.  Oliver searches that thing out and hangs on for dear life.

I know this is going to be a headache later.

BUT I'm having a hard time ripping it out now.

I know that I am going to regret ever writing that statement.

Number Six

Stephen and I have now been married for six years, as of yesterday.

Official.

Stephen is so amazing.  For gifts this year we decided to go low key and not spend much money.  Stephen came up with the most amazing gift.  He drafted a letter of acceptance to 'Post University'.  For Health 101 we are going to take a CPR class.  We've been talking about doing this for quite a while, but he took the initiative and got us signed up!  For Filmography 101 he got me the movie, Ever After.  The funny part about this particular gift was that that was the only movie that I brought to our marriage...however it was on VHS.  It was sent to DI long ago.  For Reading 101 he got me a book that we can read together.  My hubby knows me!  He really got me the perfect gift.  I love you Stephen!!

I feel like I cheat when I get cool gifts for Stephen.  I can't even take credit for them because most of them now come from Pinterest.  This year I printed off this picture:

Put it in a frame, added a dry erase marker, and I can now write my messages to him!

Seriously, Pinterest makes me look so creative.

To celebrate we dropped Maycee and Cooper off at one of the sweetest couple's house  in our ward.  They had them from 3pm to 8pm.  It was SO nice to just relax with the two of us!!...and Oliver.  He didn't really move the whole time anyway.

We started our date off right.  With Dairy Queen blizzards.

Then we went shopping!  I know, it sounds lame, but we had so much fun!  We got new clothes!!

Thank you for loving me and being the most amazing husband.  You are perfect for me.

Once there was a Snowman.

Wednesday morning we woke up to a lot of snow.

That night, Stephen, Maycee, and Cooper went out and made a snowman.  It took up all the snow in our front yard and half of the snow from our side yard.  Maycee was pretty excited about it.

As of yesterday, our snowman has become a large drink for the grass.  50 degree weather will do that to you.

Preschool

I really do like teaching preschool.  We've had a three week break and I was the first teacher back.  The kids were all very well behaved.  I know that Maycee has been missing preschool, so I think all the other kids had too!

My letter today was O.  We made the letter O with our mouths, read books about Octopus', made our own Octopus', and then ate fruit loops! (Because they were in the shape of O's.)

I love those octopus'.  Pinterest rocks.

Even Batman likes Cheetos

Check out my cute boys!

Happy New Year!!

We had every intention of leaving our house for New Years.  It didn't happen, but we ended up having a ton of fun anyway.

We invited my Mom and Dad and Karli up and we ate a lot of food, played a lot of games, and went swimming!

Krystal and Shane and Lexi joined us for New Year's Eve.  We played a game we got for Christmas that was intended for children.  It was a hoot.  Headbandz.  Maycee was the best player.  In order to figure out what she was, she went around the circle asking if she was one of the objects on everyone elses heads.  It was hilarious.

Other fun pix from the evening:

Fun times.

On New Year's Day we went swimming at the Y.  This was the third time we tried to go swimming.  First time we forgot our swimming suits.  It's clear across town!  Second time, we got there and they were going to close the pool in 20 minutes.

Third time was New Year's Day and we made it!

All of the other pictures I took on Krystal's smart phone were blurry...I really don't like those things.

Anyway, Happy New Year!
