The most embarrassing story ever. Serious.

In order to tell this story I must first preface it with another story.

I'm sure you'll catch on quickly.

Stephen and I decided that we were going to teach our children the correct terms for their body parts.  No nicknames.

Maycee is very aware of her vagina.

A few weeks ago, she told us that her monkey had a vagina.

Last week Maycee was watching me change Cooper's diaper and pointed at Cooper's 'parts' and said, "Peeker's vagina!"  Yes, she still calls him Peeker.

I said, "Cooper doesn't have a vagina.  He has a penis."

Maycee skipped around the room saying, "Peeker has a penis".  Over and over again.

......

On Sunday we were sitting quietly during the sacrament.  Yes.  The most quiet and reverent time of church when Maycee shouts, "PEEKER HAS A PENIS!!"

I was mortified.  And secretly so very amused.

Maycee said it again.  Loudly.

I then covered up her mouth.  She noticed that she was getting a big reaction and repeated herself over and over again.  I tried to hide my laughter as tears were running down my cheeks from laughing so hard, while my face was beet red from embarrassment.  The row in front of us was cracking up, also trying to hide their laughter.

Maycee can't say Cooper, but she can definitely say penis.

After taking the sacrament Stephen took Maycee out and talked to her about reverence.  He completely ignored what she had said and tried to teach her how we act in church.  Stephen's good!

Maycee was brought back in to sacrament meeting without another incident.

Krystal wanted to make church even more exciting and gave Maycee a Listerine strip.  In her defense she only gave her a quarter of one, but I still told her not to.

The instant Maycee put it in her mouth she tried to pull it out.  Of course she couldn't pull it out!  It had already dissolved!!!  Dang you Krystal!

Maycee than began to yell.  "I don't like that sticker!"

I took Maycee out to get her some water.

Thankfully, the rest of church was uneventful.

As an added bonus, however, the second counselor in the bishopric asked Stephen what we were laughing about during the sacrament.

This story will be everywhere.

Butch

Poor Cooper.

I tried my best.

In my defense, I cut your hair all by myself while Maycee was running around me trying to grab the clippers.  I also am still unsure of those darn numbers.  Every time that I cut Stephen's hair he says, "Cut the top with an 8 and the bottom with a 3" ....or something like that.

How was I to know that a 6 was WAY too short for little you!  I figured that 6 on top and 3 on the sides would go nicely, but it turned out a little disastrous.

I also missed a few spots and you have long little sprigs of hair shooting out all over the place.

YOU WERE SO WIGGLY!!

On the plus side, the buzzers didn't scare you.

We'll try again after your hair grows a bit.

Temple

Yesterday, we took the family to the temple.  The Boise temple has been under reconstruction for the last year and a half and is now open for tours.  It was so much fun to take Maycee!  She is getting a large personality, which makes for a lot of entertainment.  However, I really think that she can feel and kind of understand the importance of what we did.

We started our rendezvous with the temple at around 6pm.  There were a TON of people.  We sat through a short video that talked about temples.  Maycee was shouting out her knowledge of church while watching.  Anyone who was old, with a suit, and a smile was "Present Monson!"  And all of the big white buildings were "Tempul!"  The last one that was said the most was "MOM!  Is JESUS!!"  Those were also a lot of words that were said throughout the tour.

While we were all sitting in the chapel filled to the brink, the bench made a squeaky noise.  Maycee immediately looked at Daddy and said, "Daddy poop?"

...thank you Maycee...

After the tour we were sent to the gym in the church next door.  There were a few missionaries wandering, answering questions.  An Asian sister missionary walked up to us and began to talk to Maycee.  Maycee clung to my leg and whispered, "Mulan!"  The sister missionary didn't understand her and said, "I'm from Taiwan!"  Maycee continued to whisper "Mulan" as we hushed her, laughed, and walked out the door.

It felt so good to be back in the Boise Temple.  I am so excited to have a temple close again.  We have missed it.

Family Pictures

Karli is awesome.

She took pictures of my family!

Poor girl....I think she had a lot of pressure on her.  I am a little anal and controlling.

I LOVE YOU KARLI!

You did an awesome job.

Just as a note for memory...my mother was running around like a wild banshee during these photos, trying to get Maycee to smile.  Maycee was a pill.  No smiles.

Maycee's 2 year pictures

I am SO late with these.

Better late then never.

Here's her glamor shot:

I don't know if you can tell or not, but this is Maycee's mischievous look.  Minus the tongue.  Her eyes are saying it all...I'm going to do something that I know I am not supposed to.

She is smelling the wrong end of the flower.  I love it.

Yes.  I knew there was a huge, bright yellow flag behind her before I took the picture...BUT SHE'S SMILING!  She didn't do very much of that  during this shoot.

Here is the beginning of when she ran up and down that path for 5 minutes....

Here is my artistic picture.  I like it.

And finally...her awkward fall for the finale!

I hope you all noticed the cutie skirt that I made!

Bye, Yucky!

In an effort to get Maycee excited about potty training, I let Maycee flush the toilet after I go.  I know, it sounds gross, but I don't care.

Anyway.

It is the funniest thing.

When she flushes, she watches it go down and when it is almost gone she yells, "Bye Yucky!"

That was all Maycee.

I did nothing to even prompt that.

Which is it?

When Cooper was a month old, Stephen swore that he heard Cooper say "mama".  When Cooper cries, that is how it kind of comes out.  His lips are put together and then he open them with a wail.  It sounds like he is crying for "Mama."

I don't really think that counts.

This week Cooper has added a new sound to his syllables. "D"  When Cooper is cooing and laughing he says, over and over, "dadadadadada."

He's so cute!

So, now is the big debate.  Do I really count Cooper's crying and saying Mama?  Or do I be the bigger person and say that Cooper's first words were Dada?

KORY RICHARD CALL!!!!

You are in SO much trouble right now.

I just put Maycee down for her nap and she opened the door.

She WON'T go to sleep.

If I didn't like Charisse so much I'd threaten you with Boston.

Helper

I am really enjoying the relationship that Maycee and Cooper are forming.

You can see it starting to bud in little ways.

Here is an example.

Popcorn

Maycee's new favorite treat is popcorn.  Thank you nursery...She requests it every day.

We never have popcorn, so I kind of borrowed some from Krystal for our family home evening treat on Monday.

Here is how Maycee enjoyed her popcorn the day after.

She is so funny.

Sister & Brother

This past weekend we went to Logan to go visit Kory and Charisse.

We met Boston!

He is the cutest little thing with a TON of hair.

Anyway...we crammed both kids in Kory and Charisse's guest room with us for our sleeping arrangements.  Cooper in the pack-and-play and Maycee in the bed with us.  The first night wasn't so bad.  The second night Maycee did not want to be alone and she cried for quite a while.

Maycee stopped crying for a minute and then we heard a new sound.  Cooper.

I ran into the bedroom because it was definitely a hurt cry coming from Cooper.

As I opened the door to the bedroom, I could see why.

Maycee was laying right next to Cooper in the pack-and-play.

My guess is that Maycee fell on Cooper while trying to navigate in to the pack-and-play.  It was SO cute to see them lying right next to each other all cuddled up.

We pulled Maycee out of the pack-and-play and she eventually fell asleep on her own.  Poor little Maycee.  She wants someone to cuddle with.
