We're recalls?

On Labor Day weekend we had our Call Family Reunion. The BIG kind that involved all of my Dad's brothers and sister and their families. This year wasn't as big as last time. I was kind of sad that we had so many of our Calls that weren't able to come!

The theme of this reunion was Re"Call". Honestly, I understood what they were trying to get at. Stephen, however, did not. No, we were not all sent back to the factory because of our problems...thank you Toyota...we were focusing on recalling memories of the years that we all had together! We had fun!
Here are some of the pictures from our events:
The love of my life and ME!

Brigitte and her little boy, Ryan.
This tractor and train was my Grandpa Calls. He built the train so that he could drive all the grand kids around in it. This is the first time that the train has made an appearance since my grandpa passed away about 16 years ago. It was really neat to watch it in action. This is Thad driving all the great-grand kids around!

Volleyball...

This is one Grandma Calls favorite things to do...puzzles. She could sit and do this for hours. If there is a puzzle set up somewhere she will sit at that table until the puzzle is finished. So, naturally we would do it at the reunion!

Let me explain...being a farm girl, you have a lot of opportunities to do things normal people (or sane people) would not. This one I decided to forgo. In this picture we have Nathan showing off all of his skills in repelling. Grandma was freaking out. It was quite humorous.

This is Krystal. You might just say that swinging on a crane is her favorite past time. She's that good.

This picture also needs some explanation. This was a really neat game that they played. It's called battleship. The next two pictures are dedicated to it. There were about fifteen people on each team that were seated, as shown, on either side of the volleyball court with a tarp draped across the volleyball net. Each team had a cooler full of water balloons that they launched over the tarp to hit members of the other team. It was like a giant battleship board! When you were on either side of the tarp, you couldn't see the other members of the team. It was way fun to watch!

Here in Ethan hiding in the tarp that was over the volleyball net.

Every Call family reunion that I can remember involved a huge water fight. I don't know why, but it always happens. This time it was started by my mom. Good job Mom!

This picture shows the guys that were in the middle of the whole thing: Dad, Clint, Stephen, and Shane. You see my dad sporting some lovely red suspenders. He was supposed to wear them to remember Grandpa Call, but he didn't ever really have them over his shoulders until he was soaking wet. He said that if he took them off at that point he would "lose his britches".

Thanks to all who came! It was a lot of fun to see everyone. Here's to the next reunion!...
