Cooper is now at the age that we begin to discipline. Cooper is not a fan. Maycee, however, thinks it's the greatest thing ever. It has been quite entertaining to notice the differences between these two kids.
This morning, one such event occurred.
Maycee was putting all of the magnetic alphabet on the fridge. Cooper walked right up to Maycee and hit her in the head with his hot wheels car. Maycee wailed. Cooper really wanted the alphabet for himself. I took the car from Cooper and he immediately began to sob. He knew he was in trouble. I then told him to go to the corner and he ran to the identified spot, crying the whole way.
As soon as Cooper was in the corner, Maycee stopped crying and watched Cooper like a hawk. She was relishing her victory. Cooper was in the "trouble" spot.
After the designated time had lapsed, I called Cooper away from his corner. He had been crying the entire time in the corner, but stopped once I called. He ran back to me and awaited instruction. I told him to tell Maycee sorry and then give her a hug and a kiss. After saying sorry, Cooper carefully walked over and hugged her, then kissed her twice. Cooper was trying to get Maycee to face him, so he could kiss her. Maycee knew that. She wasn't going to help him at all. She completely ignored him and he finished his punishment.
Oh Maycee and Cooper.
