Pictures

Maycee loves to dress up.  She has found that Cooper loves to do it too. (Much to Stephen's chagrin!)  They have found that they also like to dress up their pillow pets.  They insisted I take a picture.

Oliver is obsessed with getting balls to go through that hoop.  It makes Stephen super excited.  He is a very determined little boy.  He keeps going.

See!  They love each other!!

Happy Mom

I was on the phone on Thursday and the three kids were playing in the piano room.  I heard a huge crash, moment of silence, and then Ollie screaming in pain.  I ran into the room and saw Oliver lying next to the tipped over piano bench with Maycee and Cooper looking on.

I sent Maycee and Cooper to their rooms and began to comfort Ollie.  A few minutes later I went into Maycee's room and asked her what had happened.

"I put Ollie on the piano bench and then pulled him off by his legs.  Cooper didn't do it, Mom.  It was me."

I have decided that kids definitely put your patience to the max, but they also have a way of making your heart ten times bigger.

Thank you, baby girl.  I love you.

Stephen

It has been a really long time since I have posted a Stephen funny.

He just gave me one.

I can't resist.

As a disclaimer, you cannot give Stephen crap for this...(foreshadowing)

Stephen: So, today while I was pooping at work.

Kami: I don't know if I could want to hear this.

Stephen: That's as bad as it gets.  So while I was pooping, I had my phone with me.

Kami: Of course.

Stephen: I was playing jumping jelly.  And my wife's voice came into my head and said, "That game is worthless.  You should at least play something that uses your brain, like solitaire."  So, I downloaded solitaire.

Bam.  Stephen and Kami conversation.

Cooper's Number Three

This year Cooper's birthday was on a Sunday.  We really like taking the kids to do something fun on their birthdays so we did a two day birthday.

On Sunday we opened presents and had cupcakes as a family while he blew out his little candle on his cupcake.  I was quite surprised this year.  Cooper couldn't blow out his candles!  It's not that I am expecting a three year old to figure this out, but he blew out his candles last year.  I kinda expected a recurrence.

We got Cooper a new bike helmet, a tee ball set, and a book about cars.  I love birthdays!  We really had a ton of fun.

Cooper and Maycee and Ollie trying out the new gear in their church clothes.  I love these pictures because of that.

While the kids were outside playing I frosted the cupcakes.  For my roads on the cupcakes and cake I used crushed up Oreos.  Stephen pulled all of the cream out of a full package of Oreos to make this special Oreo just for Krystal.  MMmmmmm.  Yeah girl.  You thought you liked the mega-stuff Oreos; well here you go!!

Getting all three children to look and smile at the same time is a feat I have yet to achieve.  I kinda doubt it will ever happen....

The cupcake.  Love this little man.

Couldn't blow that darn thing out.

Mmmmmmmm.  Cupcake.......

Oliver.  I cannot get enough of this kid!  Okay.  That's a lie.  Sometimes I can.

On Monday, Stephen took work off and we met Krystal and Lexi Jo at Planet Kid.  Wow.  That place was awesome.  The kids LOVED it.  Kinda pricey.  But I'm glad we went at least once.

Honestly, Ollie and Lexi were the only ones that would really hold still long enough to let me get a picture.  This is Cooper's head.  When I started taking the picture I had his face.  Promise.

Oh there's the birthday boy!

If you look really close you can see that Maycee and Stephen are burying Cooper in the balls.  He was giggling the whole time.

Stephen and Krystal throwing balls at each other.

This is hilarious.  Lexi was putting stickers on Ollie's head.

Yes.  I'm putting all five of our family pictures on here.  The progression makes me laugh.  Fitting five people into a photo is very difficult!

I have to brag for a second.  I love making cakes for my families birthdays.  I scour Pinterest for the perfect idea and get to work.  Every cake gets more and more fun for me!  Here is Cooper's race car cake.  LOVE IT!!

Any family around came over for cake and ice cream on Monday night.  We had fun!  Birthdays are the best.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY COOPER!!!  I love you little man.  I cannot believe that you are now three....

Quotable Quotes

MAYCEE:

Last night we were driving past the sugar beet factory.  The kids were asking questions about "that crazy building".

Kami: "That is the sugar beet factory.  Grandpa grows sugar beets on his farm."

Maycee: (think of a 4-year-old voice in disbelief.) "Grandpa grows sugar?"

Kami: "Yep! Grandpa grows sugar beets that he sends to these factories that turn them into sugar."

Maycee: (complete excitement) "HUH!!  Does Grandpa grow cupcakes?!?!!!!"

I got a really good laugh out of that one and then immediately called my dad.  I have to share my kids' cuteness, of course!

COOPER:

Tonight I was talking to Cooper about his birthday the next day.  He will be a whopping three years old.  That is weird.  Anyway, this is the conversation that ensewed.

Kami: "Cooper!  Your birthday is tomorrow!!  How old will you be?"

Cooper: "Four."

Kami: "No.  Right now you are two.  What comes after two?"

Cooper: "Um. Seven?"

Cooper, Cooper.

OLIVER:

AND finally, this is what happened to Oliver tonight while I was taking care of the other two kiddos upstairs:

SO over the highchair

Don't you just love his smiley eyes?  It's my favorite!  This kid is not so little anymore.  He's getting huge!!!  I love you, little Ollie!  (At what point can you no longer call a child 'little'?)

Still Living the Dream

During scripture study last week Ollie was actually cuddling with Stephen.  So, I had to take a picture.  And this happened.

Still cute.

And because I was taking pictures of Ollie, I was required to take pictures of everyone.

Still cute.

The kids have a very interesting way of 'playing' with Stephen when he is tired.  He lays on the floor and they crawl and climb and jump all over him.  They've done it for a long time, but this time, I actually got pictures.  Ollie is now able to participate.  Walking has given him a whole new world.

Oliver has learned to tackle with the best of them.  On this particular night I saw him jump on Maycee, while she was standing, wrap his arms and legs around her legs, and then drop to the ground.  It would have been a perfect move except for the fact that he happened to land under Maycee's body and began to cry from his injuries...he'll learn.

Today was especially exciting.  We built a fort!!  It started with Maycee playing under my ironing board that has my current sewing project draped all over it.  I personally think that ironing boards were created by child haters, so I didn't really want her playing near that.  (Seriously!?  Who created this wobbly, unstable board on stilts that supports a very heavy, burning piece of metal?!?!?!)

Anyway.

Maycee and Cooper played quite happily in that thing for 20 minutes.

Then they broke it.  Three times.

And sobbed hopelessly when I refused to fix it a fourth.

I told them they had to build their next one.

Maycee's next fort I did not get a picture of.  She put a ton of blankets over this small 2' by 2' table that stood about 2 feet high.  It was her domain.  She prohibited Cooper's entrance.
