Check out the new additions to our family.

I know.  This picture is really blurry.  That is what I get for using my cell phone and taking it in a dark garage at 10:30 at night.

These three kittens are our protectors.  From mice.

The kids adore them.

The black and brown fluffy one is Cooper's.  He named her Yoshi.

The black sleek one is Maycee's.  She named her Lucy.

The black and white one is Oliver's.  He named him Kitty.

About a week before moving into the house, Stephen and I found 2 mice.  So.  Cats were a necessity.  Especially since our back yard is a huge farmers field.

I found some kittens on Craigslist and we went to pick them up at 8:45pm on Thursday.  We knew that the kids would be SUPER excited, so we brought them along with us in the car.  So they could carry them on their laps while we drove back to the house.

Well.

Stephen went in to the house by his onsies to get the three kittens.  Apparently it was quite a feat to tear these kittens away from this family.  Two of the kittens, Lucy and Kitty, were easy to let go.  Yoshi was the cuddly one that was hard for them to part with.  Stephen said that one of the kids inside took Yoshi from the parent and ran and hid.  It took a few minutes for the third kitten to be brought back to the door.  The lady offered to carry Yoshi out while Stephen carried the other two to the car and handed them back to the kids.  I got out of the car to take Yoshi from the lady.  She wouldn't hand her over.  She kept kissing her and whispering in her ear.  Super awkward.  After two minutes of this, she reluctantly handed the cat to me.

Five minutes into our journey home, we received a text from the previous owner stating that if, for any reason, it didn't work out with the cats, we could bring them back.

...

I have no idea why she posted them on Craigslist.

We again thanked her and went on with our drive.

Twenty-four hours later Stephen received another text asking if they could come by and see the cats.

...

Again, another awkward.

We did not sign a joint custody clause when we took these cats.

Stephen, in his amazing way with words, told the crazy lady that we were fine and didn't feel the need to continue a relationship.

Crazy.

Anyway.  We now have three kittens.

And a crazy half-baby-kitten-mother.
