Counted Cross Stitch

I have to tell this back story before I get into the real story.

My mom likes to do counted cross stitch.  However, she isn't very quick about it.  I remember when I was a junior in high school my mom found a pattern that she had to have.  It was a matching pair that would fit perfect in her bathroom.  That pair was finished right when I came home from my mission.

Let me do the math for you...seven years.

IT TOOK MY MOM SEVEN YEARS TO DO A COUNTED CROSS STITCH!!!

When I was pregnant with Maycee, my mom approached me about doing a counted cross stitch for the new baby.  I asked the question.  "Is it going to be ready before my child gets baptized?"

My mom didn't think that was funny.

The cross stitch was done before Maycee was born.

Wow.

Well...my mom was again asking about making another counted cross stitch for our little boy.

While perusing the Joann's website, I found a few that I thought would be cute...for a boy.  When I showed Stephen, he was not impressed.

"Don't they have any that are sports related?  Like a basketball, or a football?"

"No," I replied.  "This one is very boyish!"

This is the supposed perpetrator.

"Well, can your mom at least put in a hunter or something?"  came Stephen's response.

I pulled the mom card, "Nevermind.  I'm picking it."
