Poop

Yes.

I know that the title of my blog post is poop.

If any of that title grosses you out, read no further.  I promise, it gets worse.

...

This morning was crazy!  Honestly, most mornings are crazy.  Once noon hits things seem to calm down, but before that it's a little all over the place.

After feeding Cooper and Maycee breakfast, I started on the dishes.

Normal routine.

Maycee entertained herself for a few minutes and then I took her out of her highchair for a bath.  She was letting some gargantuous stinkers so I let her sit on the toilet for a few minutes.  I only got more stinkers.  I put Maycee in the tub and went into the kitchen to start the dishwasher.

When I came back from the kitchen Maycee was standing up in the corner of the tub yelling, "Yucky, Mommy, yucky!"  When I saw what was in the tub I was so grossed out.  According to what was in the tub Maycee had eaten a lot of peas the day before.  There was poop floating all over in the water.  It was disgusting.  That is one of those times when you wish that someone else was 'mom'.

I pulled Maycee out of the tub, wrapped her in a towel, and set her on the floor next to Cooper.

I took out all of the poop and threw it in the toilet.

I let all of the "murky" water out and then scrubbed the tub down with cleaner.

I filled the tub back up with water and gave Maycee her bath.

I pulled Maycee out of the bath with her towel and rubbed her down to dry her off.  As soon as I took the towel off of her I realized I had another problem....  There was poop on the towel!!  I had just rubbed it all over Maycee.

I then commenced with another bath for Maycee.

Luckily Cooper's bath was not as exciting.

Wow.

That was gross.

Grocery Shopping

I'm pretty sure that I have mentioned on this blog before that I loathe grocery shopping.  It is the bane of my existence.  BUT because I'm trying to be a healthy person, I go grocery shopping once a week. That's how long the fresh fruits and veggies last.

This morning was grocery shopping day.

Normally I carry Cooper in the Bjorn and put Maycee in the grocery cart seat, but today we went during Cooper's nap.  Cooper slept in his car seat.  As soon as I pulled Maycee out of the car she said, "Mom, walk!"  I stewed this over and decided to give it a go.  At least until Maycee proved she wasn't ready.

We walked into Winco and ventured towards the produce section.  Here was Maycee's first chance to prove that she was "mature" enough to walk by herself in the grocery store.  She bee-lined it for the plums.  Grabbed one.  Took a bite and said, "Mmmmm, yummy apples!"

Aaahhhhhhh!

I tore the plum from her fingers and put it in a plastic baggy to purchase.

Believe it or not, I actually had plums written on my grocery list.

Now I have a plum with a toddler sized bite in it.

And a toddler who is not ready to leave the grocery cart.

A swimming we will go

We went swimming on Saturday with Nicole and Rustin and their kids along with Grandma and Grandpa Post.

I love how much Maycee loves the water.  She isn't scared and she is all over the place.  Maybe next summer she'll figure out how to swim!

Here are some cutie pictures!

This is what Grandpa did...

Reminisce

On Friday night we went to a ward potluck.

The kind where you get to bring food that other people eat.

I didn't have anything that I could make a really neat salad with, so I made jello.  Not just any kind of jello.  It was orange.  With mandarin oranges in it.  I'm so cool.

As we drove to our party I remembered something from my childhood.  I laughed out loud at the memory and told Stephen.  He, too, thought my memory was funny.

Mom?

Remember when we would go to ward functions that required a dish?  Or perhaps any person's house that we brought a salad or dessert?

Every time.  And I am not exaggerating.  E-v-e-r-y T-i-m-e we took something that my mom had made, a child's foot would end up in Mom's creation.  Just don't tell anyone that ate any of Mom's food back then.

The 30 minute car trip in to "town" made all of us kids stark raving mad.  Apparently mad enough to put a foot in Mom's food.

Poor Mom.

I'm sure it was weird trying to either cover it up or explain that her children were all ADD.

Sweeping

Maycee loves to sweep.

Actually, I think that I just made it look so fun that she wanted to give it a whirl.

Check out her technique.

...Next year she'll be sweeping for real.

White Shirt

I've been on the search for a white button up shirt for Cooper to wear to church.  I searched all of my normal Boise stores and came up empty handed.  I finally found the object of my desire online with Old Navy.

In order for me to get free shipping I rummaged through their website for other things the kids needed. Pajamas for Maycee, church pants for Cooper, shoes for Maycee, and a white shirt for Cooper in the next size.

I was so excited when I saw a package sitting on my doorstep this afternoon.

I ripped open the package and made the kids try on their new things.

Cooper's white shirt was perfect!  I am so excited!!

After trying on the shirt, the next logical step was to try on the pants.  The size of the shirt is 6-12 months.  The pants were the same.  As I pulled out the pants I thought they looked huge.  As I put them on Cooper I was shocked.  They definitely did not fit.

The pants were two inches too long, which was fine, but then that waist just wouldn't allow for the keeping of the pants.  Cooper had to suck in for the pants to fit.

Poor Cooper.

Someday he'll be a linebacker.

Guess what!

COOPER FINALLY ROLLED OVER!!!!

It has taken f-o-r-e-v-e-r for it to happen.  All of the kids his age have been rolling for months.

I think that he thought he had already accomplished this feat because Maycee rolls him over at least twice a day.

Today, however, he did it on his own.

I called Stephen at work to tell him.  This was our conversation.

Kami:  "Guess what...Cooper finally rolled over!  Well, I didn't actually see him roll over but he was on his back when I left and his stomach when I came back."
Stephen: "Are you sure he rolled over?  Where was Maycee?"
Kami: "She was asleep, so I know for sure it was him."

Go Cooper!!

Boise Zoo

We finally took Maycee to the zoo yesterday.  I was kind of disappointed.  I had it all hipped up and Maycee wasn't all that interested.

Oh well.

Check.

We went to the zoo.

We did get some fun pictures though!

The experience with this leopard was actually kind of funny.

The leopard was right next to the fence when we walked up to it and there was a group of kids clustered around her.  One of the mom's told the kids to get next to the fence so that she could get a picture of the leopard and all of the kids.  As soon as the kids posed for the picture the leopard jumped at the fence and snarled at them.  All of the kids jumped away from the fence and refused to take the picture.  Maycee went right up to the leopard after watching the incident and said, "RAWR!"

I couldn't stop laughing.

The fence was super intense and there was no way that "cat" would get through, but Maycee was definitely not scared.

3 Things

1. Stephen was helping Maycee to say her prayers on Saturday morning.  Basically what happens is Mom or Dad says things and Maycee repeats them.  This is how it went on Saturday:

Stephen: "Please bless us"
Maycee: "Bess us"
Stephen: "To have"
Maycee: "Babies"

...Apparently Cooper isn't good enough for her.

2. Cooper started eating rice cereal about a month ago.  In the beginning it was beyond awful to get him to choke this stuff down.  Ask Krystal, my mom, and Kenna.  Both experienced the awfulness.  After a week or so he calmed down and things went a lot smoother.  Today he ate a new food.  Carrots!  He loved them.  Serious.  He was bawling when I started feeding him and I thought that I wasn't going to be able to get him to eat them, but as soon as he got a taste of the carrots he stopped crying and started gnawing on the spoon.  It was great.

3. Every night before Stephen and I go to bed we check on Maycee and Cooper.  We looked in on Cooper and kissed him, then went to check on Maycee.  Right as we opened her door she gave us a big smile.  It was so sincere!  You could tell that she was still half sleeping, but it was the cutest thing.  Most of Maycee's smiles now have an agenda or some sort of malicious intent behind them.  Her smile made my night and the next day.  I love that little 2 year old girl.

Aren't they so cute!

Happy Birthday Maycee!

Maycee's birthday was on Monday.  I had everything planned perfectly.  Or I thought I had everything planned perfectly.

Before Daddy got home we played in our home made pool.  I was so proud of myself for thinking of this.

Isn't it so fun!?

When Stephen got home we loaded up the car and headed to the zoo.  Stephen got off of work early so that we could make it in time.  We sun-screened up and walked up to the entrance of the zoo.  It was 4:35.  Not kidding.  They closed at 4:30.

...

I WAS SO DISAPPOINTED!!!

I knew that Maycee would love it.  Because it was going to be so hot I went and bought all of us little squirt bottles to periodically have water fights, filled up all of the water bottles that we owned, and brought enough snacks to last us two days.  I was SO prepared.

UGH.

We ended up chasing squirrels in the park and squirting them with our squirt bottles.  And then each other.

Still very sad about not taking Maycee to the zoo.  We're going on Saturday.

Maycee loves Little Caesar's Pizza, so we got it for her birthday dinner.  It is also very convenient that it is only $5.

Stephen took numerous pictures while I was getting the pizza ready.

This one is my favorite.  You can't even see any faces, but Stephen was talking to Cooper and asking him to pull his head up.  Maycee was helping him do just that.

Maycee LOVES airplanes.  We had planed to get her a toy airplane, but they all looked super ghetto so I went with her second favorite.  Trains.

Her last present is my favorite.  Maybe because I can use it too.  I love having a toddler that you can buy toys for and then get some sort of benefit from...

A wiggle car!!!!  This thing rocks.

Maycee and I ride this thing together down our steep driveway and then coast down the sidewalk four houses down.  I'm yelling the whole way.  Wahoo!

Happy second birthday Maycee!!!  Mommy and Daddy love you!!!!
