What the kiddos are up to...

1. Last night Oliver gave me a little treat.  I am pretty sure that Oliver only woke up once last night.  Hallelujah!  Today I feel amazing.  I've been a slightly cranky, sleep deprived maniac lately.

2. Cooper is a monkey.  Saying he is a monkey only partly describes the amount of chaos this child has created.  He thinks our kitchen chairs are his personal elevator to anything in the house.  Serious.  Because of him we have had to re-baby proof the house.  We have moved the knives to an undisclosed location.  If I could move the chandelier, I would.  He crawls on the kitchen table and bats my chandelier around.  The first time I saw it, I about had a heart attack.  Boys.

3.  Maycee is learning her own sense of humor.  She loves to fake burp and laugh.  She also thinks that anytime she throws the word poop into a conversation, it is hilarious.  I am partly to blame.  I giggle endlessly when I burp and also when I let 'stinkers'.  That's what we call it to be polite....

Isn't Maycee the cutest thing ever?  She did her hair all by herself.  She also did her shoes by herself.  Love that kid

AND...here are some pictures from the morning.

And Lexi came over to visit!  Oliver just cuddled right in.

Happy Halloween official!

Happy Halloween (Part 2)

So...Saturday night was the ward 'Trunk-or-Treat'.  All of my preparations for our costumes were mostly for this event.  AND THEY DIDN'T EVEN DO COSTUME CONTEST!!!!  Super annoyed about that one.  We totally would have won.

AND because I am a super awesome mom, I didn't get pictures that night either.  I am bating a million.

Let me give you a little preview of our costumes.

We were the Justice League.  Minus Green Lantern and John Jones.

Oliver was Superman.

Stephen was Batman.

Maycee was Wonder Woman.

Cooper was The Flash.

I was Hawkgirl.

No one knew who I was.  Just to clue you in, if you have no idea what I am talking about, I was the girl on the far right.  I looked awesome.  One person asked...'Are you Robin?'  Another asked...'Are you, like, Wolverine girl or something?'  At the last question, I threatened to hit the kid with my mace.

Yes, I totally have a mace.

For family home evening tonight we carved a pumpkin.  The kids are obsessed with the pumpkin.  AND I took pictures!

And this is what Oliver was doing...

Happy Halloween!!! (Part 1)

I love Halloween.

That's probably a weird holiday to love, but I do.  I love the massive amounts of candy, I love the cool decorations, I love the awesome haunted houses, BUT most of all I love to dress up.

Because of my love for Halloween, I signed up to host the Preschool Halloween Party.  I signed up for this gig three or four months ago.  I should have started planning then.  At least then I would have been ready.

The party was supposed to begin at 10am.  At 9:45 I was scrambling.  I called Kelli and asked her to call the rest of the troops and hold them off until 10:30.  At 10:30, I still wasn't ready, but the party started anyway.  I am currently begging pictures off of people so that I can put them on my blog.  I was running around like a chicken the entire time and didn't have a second to snap a picture.  Hopefully I'll get to add pictures soon!

We started of the party with our ghost bean bag toss.  I made white bean bags for each of the kids and Stephen drew ghosts on them.  They're pretty cool.  Each of the kids were able to throw the ghosts into our 'pumpkin patch buckets' for a treat.  Maycee was the only kid that didn't get a ghost in the bucket.  In her defense, we've decided that she is not a lefty, but she threw all of the bean bags with her left hand.  That was the hand I gave her the bean bags too.

After the bean bag toss we had an obstacle course for the kids to run.  Honestly, I think they were a little young for that particular game.  It was sure funny to watch them try, though!

Then we decorated little pumpkins with markers and did a cupcake walk.  It was a lot of fun and a lot of work.  It was probably a lot of work because I always have this idea in my head, 'go big or go home'.  It had to be awesome!  Maybe someday I'll get over that.

We had lunch together and the party was over.  I love being able to sit and talk with the other moms in the group.  Adult interaction has been a little slim as of late.

Well...Happy Halloween!

Brave

Yesterday was church.  It doesn't start until 1:30pm.  Maycee was going ballistic.  She needed entertainment.  I decided to pull out the fingernail polish.  When we finished painting her toenails, we had a little conversation...

Maycee:  Mom?  Can I paint my toenails by myself?
Me: No, sorry.  Mom's not as brave as Uncle Kory and Aunt Krystal.
(Both of them have let Maycee paint her toenails by herself.)
Maycee: Mom!  You are brave like Uncle Kory and Aunt Krystal!!
...
I just laughed.

Later when I told this story to Stephen, he said, "Yeah right.  Kory and Krystal were 'brave' at your parents' house on your parents' carpet and furniture."

Good point.

Cooper's 18 Month Checkup

....At 19 months.

So.

We got a new pediatrician.  I LOVE her!!!!!

Our last pediatrician was ok, but she didn't really interact with my kids and she never seemed super interested in them, so when I switched to St. Lukes with my midwife I figured this was a perfect time to go hunting for a new pediatrician.  We met with three different pediatricians and found the perfect one.  She actually played with my kids!  There are so many things that I love about her.  Almost too many to expound upon.

Here are the stats:
24 lbs - 40th Percentile
30.5 in - 1st Percentile

Not fun about boys

We had to do Oliver's circumcision a few days ago.  Yuck.  I'm really not a fan.  Poor little Oliver handled it quite well.  However, I hate changing his diapers now.  I'm always afraid I'm going to hurt him.

Poor little guy.

The Man of my Dreams

So.

I decided to have a baby at the wrong time of year.  A time of year when my mother is not available.  Period.  Harvest waits for no one.

I knew this when we got pregnant.  I knew this way before we told anyone the due date was October 10th.  To combate this little problem, Stephen saved up his vacations days and took off a whole week to take care of me and the kiddos.  I cannot even begin to tell you what an amazing husband I have.

When we got home from the hospital on Sunday, that very night Stephen whipped out his planner and wrote down his Mr. Mom schedule for the week.  He took on everything that I would have done.  He did the dishes at least twice a day.  He cleaned bathrooms.  He did the grocery shopping.  The intensive shopping that consisted of a trip to Winco and Costco.  He took Maycee to preschool.  He mopped the kitchen floor.  He made the meals.   Anywhere he went he took Maycee and Cooper.  There are so many other things that he did for us!

I am so grateful to have an amazing man like Stephen.  I LOVE YOU!!!!  Thank you for taking such good care of me and the kids.

Farmer Maycee

While Stephen was on his Mr. Mom run, he took Maycee and Cooper on one of the preschool field trips.  They went to visit one of our neighbors that has horses and chickens.  Their neighbors also have goats, so they made a little stop over there.  I just have the pictures of the event.

Cooper was quite tuckered out when he got home.  Isn't he so cute!
