Cake Pops

I surprised Stephen with an awesome date night.  If I do say so myself.  And I do.

We watched basketball!  For me, that is a big deal.  It is, after all, March Madness.

For this amazing date night I decided to learn to make an awesome treat.  Cake Pops.  Originally I was going to do this.

But, because I am now a connoisseur of cake pops, I learned that I cannot use my food coloring to dye my white chocolate.  No joke.  I have read a ton of stuff on cake pops to make them be beautiful and not fall apart.  So I just made chocolate cake pops.  That were awesome.  Here are the kiddos enjoying my treat.

I let them have one before bed and then Stephen and I chowed down.

Yeah.  Poor Ollie.  I know, no cake pops for you.

Cooper really downed those things.  Well, at least I know he likes them!  It's so cute how he says 'cake pops'.

On Friday night we watched one of the sweet sixteen games.  Louisville and Kentucky.  Kentucky won.  I think I'm bad luck.  Stephen had Louisville winning it all.  So, his bracket was null and void after that game.  Poor Stephen.  I still love you!

Laundry

I.

Hate.

Laundry.

And by hate, I mean that I absolutely loathe it.  I've been working on laundry for 2 days now.  I think it's finally done.  This morning while I was folding clothes, I asked if Maycee wanted to do the laundry.  I almost immediately regretted my request.  Maycee did help me.  Then my laundry problem got more chaotic.

Seriously.

I will pay someone to do my laundry once a week.

And since everyone reading this will automatically think/say, "Yeah, right.  Kami's the cheapest person on the planet."

To you I say...you are correct.

Pay can come in many forms.

As a side note, Cooper has been carrying all of his trucks around the house today in our little doll stroller.

Bruce-a-Palooza

Bruce comes to Boise every six months and we hit up an awesome restaurant.  He's an old family friend that helps us explore the restaurant offerings of Boise.

We were planning to hit up a new restaurant in Meridian.  However, when we got to our appointed dining location we noticed a lot of ladders inside...it wasn't even open yet.  Don't worry.  We ended up at one of our new favorite restaurants instead, Lucky Finns.  Mmmmmm.  Good stuff.  Best Fish Tacos EVER.

Since Lucky Finns is right next door to Krispy Kremes, we had to go and partake of the Hot and Ready's!

My kids crack me up.

Bruce couldn't just let us get the free ones.  He bought another dozen.  I don't know how it happened, but we ended up with the leftovers.  This morning my kids begged me for more donuts and chocolate milk.  They are wired and it is only 9am.

USA - Preschool

I love teaching preschool.  I really do!  I'm not just saying that.

I'm really sad that I didn't get pictures of my awesome Tuesday class.  I couldn't find my camera. :(

My teaching agenda for the week: Letter Y, Number 25, Theme USA, Count to 35.

On Tuesday we focused on Y and 25.  For our letter Y we finger painted a paper plate yellow for suns!  Stephen drew some awesome faces on all of them.  He is so creative.  I'm so glad that he allows me to use his creative ability at any time.  Thanks Hun!

For the number 25, I created my own genius.  I was pretty proud of myself.  I printed off a 2 and a 5, then cut them in half and had the kids put them together as a puzzle.

For counting practice I filled a bowl full of 35 of my cool buttons and had them count them out.  They did pretty well!

Thursday we focused on the USA.  It took me forever to find what would be a good lesson plan.  America is such a huge topic and I didn't know how and where the start for 3 and 4 year olds.  I finally found the perfect idea.  I dressed up as Betsy Ross and we read a book about how she made the first American flag.  We also learned about the difference between the first flag and today's flag.  Then we made our own flags!

I love preschool!

Baby Sister

My baby sister is gone.

Like, grown up, gone.

On Wednesday, my mom and dad drove her to the MTC and dropped her off.  She will be serving a mission in Macon, Georgia for a year and a half.

I left home when Karli was six years old.  It is so surreal that she is old enough for all of this.

Baby Sister, you are going to do amazing things.

This is when real life begins.

The Last Hurrah

For Karli's farewell weekend, we decided to go big.

We went to Lava.

That is big.  Especially for our family.

On Saturday we stood outside of the pool and the sign told us that there was no public swimming until 2pm.  We arrived around 11:30.  To kill the time we went to the park just down the street.  It was freezing.  At least I thought so.  I was in the car.  AND I stole all of these pictures from Krystal.  Thanks Chica!

No pix in the pool.  It was way too crowded to have that.

That night we celebrated Karli's birthday.  She will officially turn 19 in the MTC, so we had to eat cake and sing the birthday song.

Community bath time.

Now that Dad has a new projector, HALO is no longer blurry mess.

On Sunday all of Karli's family was sitting on the pews in front of her.

I was in awe as I listened to my little sister talk.  She is so much more prepared than I was to serve a mission.  And she's two and a half years younger than I was!  She is awesome.

I love my Maycee girl.

During Cooper's nap time, Maycee and I normally have 'quiet time'.

Sometimes I get creative and we do fun things together.

This was one of our fun days.

Maycee said that this was Daddy.  Doesn't he look so cute with his bow tie!

Maycee is obsessed with lipstick.  I don't know why.  I never wear it.  But she is.  I made us some lipstick mouths!  Aren't we cute!!

Maycee requested a picture with her bear that she had just crowned.

Senior Moment

I forgot the best line from this weekend.

"Mom, your hair is crazy!" I said.

Messing with her hair, Mom replied, "Ah!  Is it really?"

Dad turned to us and said, "Is it really raining?"

...

You probably had to be there.  Dad.  You are old.

Cooper's #2

My baby boy is two.  TWO!

This is weird.

In honor of Cooper's second birthday, I went in search of a cake that would fit Cooper.

And I found it.

And I made it.

Thank you Pinterest.

I'm so proud.

Saturday was Cooper's birthday.  A perfect day for a birthday.  We invited up my parents and their motorcycles and went riding in Emmett.  Cooper loves the motorcycles...and my dad.  You really can't tell by his facial expressions that he loves the bikes, but keeping him off of them is quite a chore.

So here is our picture journal of the morning/afternoon.

What the heck!  Karli, I don't even have a picture of you!  Or dad!  Sorry, apparently I'm a slacker.

That night we invited Grandma and Grandpa Post to join in and we opened presents and ate cake and ice cream.

Okay, I'm totally going to brag on my boy.  Cooper opened up all of his presents by himself.  AND he also blew out his candles all by himself.  I couldn't believe it!  He also had a sweet puddle of drool come out of his mouth and land right on the cake just before he blew it out.  Shane got the perfect video of the whole thing.  I gotta get that!

Thanks everyone for coming to celebrate my boy's birthday!

I LOVE YOU, COOPER!!!!!

Happy Birthday!
