Our Redneck Weekend

We went to the farm this last weekend.  We haven't been to the farm since Christmas.  It's been awhile.  BUT.  We had SO much fun!  Mom and Dad always host a great party weekend.

We got up on Saturday morning and enjoyed crapes with strawberries and whipped cream.  Maycee sure enjoyed them.  You can see that all she really ate was the whipped cream.  That girl knows how to have breakfast. ...Hi Karli!...

When Stephen asked what we would be doing on the farm, I told his that we were riding motorcycles and having a hot dog roast.  My mom and dad totally have a fire pit in their yard.

I forget that Stephen still doesn't really understand farm life.  Every time we go I feel like he gets a new introduction.  Rule number one: NEVER wear your good clothes on the farm.  Bad things happen.  Stephen ripped a hole in his only surviving pair of jeans.

Maycee was so cute on the motorcycles.  She spent most of Saturday riding on them.  I also found out that she spent most of the time with Grandpa.  According to my dad Maycee was "in her element".  She rode the motorcycle with Grandpa to fix the water pumps.  She went to help put together a GPS for one of the tractors.  Apparently she is a very good farmer side kick.  Who would'a thunk?!

Stephen also learned what it means to ride motorcycles on the farm in the spring.

Water time.

Stephen and Krystal and Shane rode all over the farm unplugging the nozzles on the pivot sprinklers.  They all came back a muddy, wet mess.  I'm pretty sure Stephen ate it all up.

Here is Stephen's face after unplugging nozzles that only he could reach.  Lucky to be so tall.

Here we are at the hot dog roast!  I think Maycee only ate potato chips.  ...She's spoiled.

Grandma Call snuck over to watch us eat.  It took her a while to let me get a good picture of her.  She finally acquiesced when she realized I wasn't leaving until I got a picture of her smiling.

Krystal started a water fight.  I didn't get any good pictures.  Technically the water fight was only between Stephen and Krystal.  That girl likes to pick fights.

The day was finished off sitting in lawn chairs in the middle of the road while Maycee played in the water in her diaper.  Seriously.  It was SO fun.

Sometimes I miss being in the middle of nowhere.

Then I remember it takes me two minutes to get to church.

AND I can go the the grocery store across the street when I forget something.

Honestly though, I love going to the farm.  The open space and peace and quiet are very inviting.

Sunday, the reason the we came to the farm, was my cousin, Calvin's, homecoming talk.  He come home from his mission in Missouri.  You could tell from his demeanor that he was a great missionary.

It was really good to see all of my extended family and watch people fight over who got to hold Cooper or play with Maycee.

Great weekend.
